Gigi Hadid is taking the next step in her career by signing up as the new co-host for Netflix’s ‘Next in Fashion’ along with Tan France.
After appearing in Versace’s latest campaign alongside sister Bella Hadid, Donatella Versace, and Maluma, Gigi Hadid is moving onto the next chapter of her life which is gearing up herself to co-host the second season of Netflix’s ‘Next in Fashion’. She will be joined by British TV personality Tan France.
Tan France took to his social media to announce the news with the fans and followers and posted a picture featuring Gigi herself and wrote, “Who would have thought when we met over Facetime 4 years ago (thanks @evachen212) that we’d be hosting NEXT IN FASHION TOGETHER! You read that right! The secret’s out.” Gigi Hadid has replaced the previous season’s host Alexa Chung.
Gigi Hadid took to her Insta story to ask the dedicated and passionate designers to sign up for the competition. She wrote, “Netflix is casting designers now for season 2. I know there are many designers out there that deserve a platform like this. Second guessing yourself? Please just go for it. This is your sign and your chance. Show us your creations.”
Supermodel Gigi Hadid is very excited to take on the role of host of the show. She has previously revealed that she does not like to give too much of a thought to the outfits she has to wear when she is working. She said, “It’s not my job to have an opinion on what I’m wearing [on set]. It’s my job to wear what I wear and have enough of a photographic mind to understand how to make that piece look good, sellable, and give the feeling that is wanted by the creative team.”
Last year, in one of her interviews Gigi mentioned that she looks forward to focusing her energy and time towards something different than modeling as in that way she can make space for new faces on the runway. She stated, “Where can I make way for that next generation and focus my energy and time on something else—something that is obviously still in this world but is fulfilling for me, creatively, and different?”
“Next in Fashion” is a show that looks over a group of fashion designers going head-to-head with each other in order to become the next big thing in the fashion industry. The winner also wins prize money of $250,000 along with a chance to debut their collection with Net-a-Porter. Minju Kim from South Korea was the winner of the first season and has recently debuted her collection with Net-a-Porter and mentioned that being a part of the show helped her to realize that she is capable of anything.
