While recently discussing with Bustle,  Columbia Pictures, and Marvel Entertainment produced The Amazing Spider-Man film series’ leading star Andrew Garfield, who played the titular role of Spider-Man in the series before it was passed down to Tom Holland as a part of a deal between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios, according to which Holland would be stepping into the boots of the friendly neighborhood superhero in Marvel Cinematic Universe for 5 films. In 2019, both the studios agreed to extend the deal to the sixth film, Garfield says that the kind of experience he had with the Sony lead Spider-Man franchise made him set some standards with the public because he had to work very hard to avoid sharing the details regarding the Spider-Man films.

"I'm not in the public eye to a great degree because I've designed it that way for myself," he said. "For my work, I'm fine with it, but otherwise I fight for my right for a private, personal life. My right to be ordinary. My right to be a mess. My right to be sorrowful. My right to lose, to get it wrong, to be stupid, to be a person," Garfield said to Bustle, explaining how his process of avoid giving too much detail about the movie helped him shape himself in such a way that he is able to maintain distance with the public to keep his private life personal.

Though the actor hesitated to comment on the upcoming superhero blockbuster Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which he is rumored to return in the role of fan-favorite superhero character Spider-Man. "I understand why people are freaking out about the concept of that because I'm a fan as well... You can't help but imagine scenes and moments of 'Oh, my God, how fucking cool would it be if they did that?'" He said, "But it's important for me to say on the record that this is not something I'm aware I am involved in," Garfield previously shared, talking about his rumored appearance in the film.

"But I know I'm not going to be able to say anything that will convince anyone that I don't know what’s happening," he added. "No matter what I say, I'm fucked. It's either going to be really disappointing for people or it's going to be really exciting.”

Despite the long list of rumors claiming Garfield’s appearance in the Jon Watts’ directed superhero film indicates that he might just return to play the web-slinger, but it is something that is definitely not guaranteed and fans should these rumors with a pinch of salt, but what is guaranteed is that Spiderman: No Way Home will be led by the 28-year-old superstar Tom Holland in the role of Spiderman aka Peter Parker with Zendaya in the role of MJ, Benedict Cumberbatch in the role of Doctor Strange, Jon Favreau in the role of Harold "Happy" Hogan, Jacob Batalon in the role of Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei in the role of May Parker, J. B. Smoove in the role of Julius Dell, Alfred Molina in the role of Otto Octavius also known as Doctor Octopus, and Jamie Foxx in the role of Max Dillon also known as Electro.

The film is a follow-up to the second part of the film series Spiderman: Far From Home released in 2019 and is currently slated to hit the theatres on December 17, 2021.
