This year's Billboard Latin Music Awards were a sweeping event for Bad Bunny, the Latin rapper who scored 10 big wins along with the esteemed Artist of The Year Award.

The Award ceremony hosted on Thursday night, September 23rd, was an exceptionally worthwhile occasion for Bad Bunny. The singer, songwriter, and rapper won awards for songwriter of the year; Hot Latin Songs artist of the year, male; Latin Rhythm artist of the year, solo; and Top Latin Albums Artist of the year, male amongst others.

Competing with his own albums, Bunny was able to score album of the year category for YHLQMDLG against El Ultimo Tour del Mundo and Las Que No Iban a Salir. He also won Hot Latin Song of the Year; Hot Latin Song of the year, vocal event; and streaming song of the year for "Dákiti," Bunny's song with Jhay Cortez.

The ceremony was hosted at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Fla., and premiered on the Telemundo network. Many artists like Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, Daddy Yankee, Rosalía, Rauw Alejandro, Natti Natasha, Carlos Vives, Myke Towers, Jhay Cortez, and Nicky Jam performed live for the audience during the award show.

The award ceremony this year honored artists covering 56 categories, many of which included categories like popular albums, songs, and artists of the year. The awards were distributed based on esteemed Billboard weekly charts ranging from February 1st last year to August 7th, 2021. As the ceremony was not hosted the previous year owing to the pandemic, this year's time duration of determining winners was quite longer than usual.

The Peas' song "Ritmo (Bad Boys for Life)" won the title sales song of the year. Their song "Mamacita" won the category of Latin pop song of the year and was sung along Ozuna and J. Rey Soul. They also won the crossover artist of the year award for their album Translation. It featured many Latin artists.
