Life was beautiful for Kelly Rizzo and Bob Saget when they finally found each other. Unluckily enough, the couple could have only so many years together when Bob Saget passed away. His death came as a shock to the entire industry, but no one was more shattered than his wife, Kelly Rizzo.
Before marrying Rizzo, Saget was wedded to his former wife Sherri Kramer. The actor had once stated that when he got divorced from Kramer, he had lost all hope of finding love again. Kramer and Saget were married for 15 years when they split up in 1997. They shared daughters Aubrey, born in 1987, Lara, born in 1989, and Jennifer, born in 1992, together.
The Full House alum told Parade in 2009, “The highest thing in my whole life is my daughters. I worship them! If everything in my life is raised to the level of how great they are, then that would be a great thing to have achieved.”
Saget and Rizzo ultimately expanded into a blended family as Saget introduced his daughters to his new wife. The couple had got engaged two years into dating. Rizzo shared in April 2018, “He has three girls, and I’m super close with them. He’s been there, done that. Not for me. So, just gonna enjoy life and travel around. Maybe one day I’ll talk him into a dog.”
Bob Saget and Rizzo tied the knot in October 2018 in a small intimate wedding. “I’ve never met anybody like him," Rizzo told Us Weekly. “He keeps me on my toes, literally. He’s just a wonderful guy. He’s a comedian, so there’s never a dull moment! And all of his friends are just so fun because they’re just as fun and unique and complex as he is.”
The two spent a great time until their marriage lasted, sharing their date nights, funny videos, and so much more with their fans. Rizzo and Saget stood beside each other throughout the very difficult pandemic, and Rizzo called him her "quarantine bestie." But only two years into the pandemic, The Orange County Sheriff confirmed that the How I Met Your Mother actor has passed away at the age of 65. He was found dead in a Florida hotel room.
The tweet confirming his death revealed, “Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room. The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.”
Only a few days earlier to the tragedy, Rizzo had shared a loving post with her husband captioned, “Another year of fun with this one…sorry December got a bit lazy 🤷🏼♀️ @bobsaget,” as she shared her highlights from the year 2021 with her husband.
Following her husband's death, Rizzo said Bob was “My whole heart. Bob was my absolute everything.” The star added, “I am so completely shattered and in disbelief. I am so deeply touched by the outpouring of love and tribute from our friends, family, his fans, and his peers.” She also continued that “when the time is right and when this news is not as raw,” she will be "sharing more of Bob with the world.”
Rizzo also said, “Sharing how much he meant to me, all of those around him, and how much all of his fans and friends meant to him as well. Thank you for respecting my privacy at this time.”

The two met in 2015 as a few mutual friends introduced them. Last year in February 2021, the blogger shared how she and Bob Saget first met each other. She shared that he sent her a DM, and, "He said, 'Hey, want to come to a show of mine and then go out for some burgers and lobsters?' ... And then I was like, 'Oh no, I kind of like him.'"
November 2017
The two got engaged in November 2017, and Saget let his followers know by saying, "In case you're wondering, we were celebrating our engagement."
October 2018
The two married in October 201, and Rizzo let Us Weekly know, "The night was perfection and the love and support from our family and friends was overwhelming. Oh, and the food was fantastic!”
Saget was also deeply in awe of his wife and said in a May 202Instagram post that she is the “sweetest, most beautiful, smartest woman.” He added, “I am so incredibly lucky — and always surprised she loves me so much. Almost as much as I love her. Everyone who gets to have Kelly in their life is beyond fortunate. She is an amazing wife, daughter, sister, ‘stepmommy Kelly’ and best friend.”
Following the actor's death, his family also shared how saddened they are by the news. They said, "We are devastated … that our beloved Bob passed away today.” The Sunday post read: “He was everything to us, and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter. Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”
