With Child’s Play star Brian Tyree Henry, all set to be launched in The Eternals as Phastos along with other superstars in the film, while recently speaking in an interview shared a surprising fact from the film that he didn’t have to go through the process of body transformation in order to be filmed in the upcoming superhero epic.

Henry said, "I remember the first time that they were like, 'We want you to be a superhero,' and I was like, 'Cool. How much weight do I have to lose?' And Chloé was like, 'What are you talking about? We want you exactly as you are,'" Henry shared with Variety by recalling the shocking moment.

He added that for a black man like him to be cast in a film the way they are naturally is something that was really shocking for him as he could have never imagined that something like this could happen with him also. "To be a Black man, to have someone look at you and say, 'We want you exactly the way you are,' is unlike anything that I’ve ever felt," Henry added. "It just triggered me to be an 11-year-old kid who is watching these superhero movies, and not ever seeing anyone like me reflected. And how I would take these posters and put them in my locker, and just hope that one day there will be somebody representing me, in the way you know that I am. And I truly believe that that moment started when I sat down with Chloé. It’s unlike any feeling I’ve ever experienced."

Prior to these comments, Henry in a separate interview revealed how the upcoming superhero blockbuster helped him in gaining back the confidence that he had lost in himself. "It just really resonated a lot with how I felt my place in society was," Henry said. "How we can be kings and queens, and at the same time, they’ll take our pedestal and take our superpowers from us like that. So what I love the most about Eternals is that [director] Chloé [Zhao] and [producer] Nate [Moore] just re-instilled that power back in me again."

With Brian Tyree Henry as the first gay superhero Phastos, in the award-winning director Chloe Zhao’s The Eternals, which will play an important role in building the future of Marvel Cinematic Universe, also has some big names in its cast list such as Angelina Jolie in the role of Thena, Salma Hayek in the role of Ajak, Richard Madden in the role of Ikaris, Gemma Chan in the role of Sersi, Lauren Ridloff in the role of Makkari, Lia McHugh in the role of Sprite, Kumail Nanjiani in the role of Kingo, Barry Keoghan in the role of Druig, Don Lee in the role of Gilgamesh, Kit Harington in the role of Dane Whitman with additional actors including Harish Patel, Haaz Steiman as Phastos' husband, Ozer Ercan as a smuggler and Zain Al Rafeea in an unknown role.
