While the most popular superhero franchise Marvel Studio is all set to release the Oscar-Winning director Chloe Zhao’s take on Eternals, which will take the viewers through the journey of ten new superheroes who have been secretly living on planet earth for thousands of years, film producer Nate Moore while speaking to Toronto Sun reveals some behind the screen secrets about the film.

Moore while discussing about Deviants, who are supposed to be the main villain of the film, explains that Deviants moves from planet to planet in order the destroy any kind of life present on the planet. “There’s a past storyline and the present storyline … Like Godfather 2, The Deviants go from planet to planet … and wipe out intelligent life, This is our largest cast for a first movie, and the cast is pretty amazing.”

He further added by explaining about the diversity of the superhero epic and how it differs from other Marvel Cinematic Universes films’ released over the year. “We’ve made 25 movies now at Marvel, but this is the first movie that’s really built around a romance,” he says. “This, if we can do it right, is an epic romance, Sersi was a character that we took a long time to find, We read Gemma and she was perfect for us. But, you know, I think if Minn-Erva’s not blue, I don’t know if we would have pulled that trigger.”

Moore also touches upon the timeline of the film and the fact that it is inspired by Jack Kirby’s version of Eternals. “It’s a big, cosmic, crazy movie set on Earth over 7,000 years,” Moore adds. “We are actually inspired by the Kirby stuff, The Gaiman run was very much about people who didn’t realize they were special with Ikaris coming along and saying, ‘Hey, guess what? You guys are immortal and your memories have been erased.’ That’s pretty cool, but that’s also the plot of Harry Potter and The Matrix, right?”

Moore further went on to talk about Games of Thrones actor Kit Harington’s role in the film as Dane Whitman rather than Black Knight that the fans were expecting. “In the comics, Dane Whitman becomes a hero known as the Black Knight. We won’t see Harington suit up as the character in Eternals.”

He teases Harington’s role in future Marvel movies saying, “He’s not going to be Black Knight necessarily, but that is something that we get to play with down the road. “We felt like there was enough story that it could be a contained universe,” he says. “We definitely have ideas of how things can cross over later. But this movie with 10 characters and Dane Whitman and the Celestials and the Deviants, there was enough for us to play with.”
