The 38-year-old actress Gemma Chan, all set to make her debut in Hollywood’s most successful franchise Marvel Cinematic Universe ahead of the films’ release in theatres on November 5th, 2021, while appearing at a recent interview with ComicBook.com shared her thoughts on a team-up between Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie and her superhero character Sersi.

Chan told ComicBook.com that her superhero squad has been living on planet earth for thousands of years, so they must come around with different characters from the Marvel Cinematic Verse. "It's so interesting actually, because obviously the Eternals have been on earth for the last 7,000 years," Chan explained. "So they could have had several run-ins with them, various different characters. But I actually really think that Sersi and Valkyrie would have a lot of fun together."

Chan went on to tease the fans about her role in the superhero epic. "One of the first things we talked about was Sersi's arc in the film because it's a bit of a coming of age story for her, really, even though she's sounds to be as old already," Chan added. "She doesn't even really know the extent of her powers at the beginning of the film. She doesn't necessarily trust her instincts. She has a lot of doubt, but by the end of the film, she really comes into her own and she really learns to harness her power. And that was a really fun thing to fulfill."

The upcoming superhero movie The Eternals made on such a massive scale is also supposed to explore the events that took place during Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame to justify why the superhero team Eternals led by Salam Hayek’s Ajak did not participate throughout the events when the Mad Titan Thanos was wreaking havoc on the Earth mightiest superheroes, Avengers, as disclosed by film director Chloe Zhao in a separate interview "The audience will understand why, but how complicated not interfering made them feel. We explore that. You'll see that in the film. The Eternals were instructed not to interfere with any human conflict unless Deviants are involved. There's a reason why that's the case. And that was the instruction from the prime Celestial Arishem."

She added, "What excited me is the idea of going back in time, and exploring [the time] before Thanos was born, before anyone was born," she continued. "Where does the MCU go back in time? And that brings us to the mythology of the Celestials. Anything involving the Celestials is going to be at a huge scale level of complication, let's put it that way."

In addition to Gemma Chan in the role of Sersi, she is joined by several other actors from Marvel Studios The Eternals which includes Brian Tyree Henry in the role of the first gay superhero Phastos, Angelina Jolie in the role of Thena, Salma Hayek in the role of Ajak, Richard Madden in the role of Ikaris, Lauren Ridloff in the role of Makkari, Lia McHugh in the role of Sprite, Kumail Nanjiani in the role of Kingo, Barry Keoghan in the role of Druig, Don Lee in the role of Gilgamesh, Kit Harington in the role of Dane Whitman with additional actors including Harish Patel, Haaz Steiman as Phastos' husband, Ozer Ercan as a smuggler and Zain Al Rafeea in an unknown role.
