July 2010: Lively and Reynolds star together in "Green Lantern."
The couple first met on the set of "Green Lantern" in 2010. They made their first public appearance together when they attended the Comic-Con in San Diego. But the two weren't a thing yet. Blake Lively was dating Penn Badgeley, her co-star from "Gossip Girl." On the other hand, Ryan Reynolds had already tied the knot with Scarlett Johansson.

But soon, in September that year, Lively and Badgley ended their relationship. According to US Weekly, the two had already separated a long while ago yet had kept the news undercover but were still friends with each other.
December 2010: Reynolds and Johansson announced their divorce

Just a few months into the breakup of Lively and Badgley, Reynolds too split ways from his two-year's wife, Scarlett Johansson. They released a joint statement confirming their divorce that read: "After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage. June 2011: Lively supposedly starts dating Leonardo DiCaprio

They were even photographed together at the Cannes Film Festival that year. However, the summer fling lasted only a short while, and the couple called quits by the end of the summer.
October 2011: Lively and Reynolds begin dating

Lively and Reynolds became a couple in the fall of 2011, as a source confirmed at the time. They were reported to be "really happy together." In fact, Lively spent the weekend of Reynold's birthday over at his place.
September 2012: The couple tied the knot in a hush-hush ceremony.
The couple decided to tie the knot at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant, South Carolin, in a very private ceremony that only housed their closest family and friends. The couple still has kept the pictures of their event under the wraps, yet they revealed details about Lively's wedding gown, which was a couture ball gown by Marchesa. They also talked about their giant dessert table and the wedding bouquets.
However, their wedding ceremony took place on a plantation that served to enslave Black people. Reynold apologized for the mistake later, saying, "It's something we'll always be deeply and unreservedly sorry for. It's impossible to reconcile."

Their first public red carpet event as a couple was in 2014 when they both appeared for the year's Met Gala. The couple looked dapper in Gucci.
Later in August, Lively told Vogue, "Everything we do in life we do together. If I'm working on a movie, he helps me with my character; I do the same with him. Picking out a coffee table. In October 2014, Lively shared her pregnancy news with fans through her website, Preserve. She posted a picture captioned,
"Congratulations to all the expecting mothers out there." The picture featured Lively alongside other expecting people.
Then in January 2015, Page Six finally reported that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had become parents to a daughter. The child came a bit earlier for the couple than the expected due date. Lively gave birth to her daughter near their Bedford, New York home.
A few months later, Ryan Reynolds joined "The Today Show," and that is where fans got to learn more about the couple's daughter and her name.
Revealing the name of his daughter, he said, "It's James." Then he joked, "Everyone knows I didn't want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media, because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls, and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, 'Why did you do that?'"
February 2016: the couple share more about their time together
Until then, the details of how the couple met were not publicly revealed. People only knew that they starred together in a film, and then a year later, they were a "thing." But talking with Entertainment Weekly in February 2016, Reynolds revealed that they were just "buddies" when they met.
The first time they went on a date, it was a double date. Funnily enough, Reynold was with the other woman, and Lively was with another man. Reynold said, "That was the most awkward date for their perspective, probably because we were just like fireworks coming across. It was weird at first, but we were buddies for a long time. I think it's the best way to have a relationship is to start as friends."

They announced their second pregnancy back in April 2016. Just about two months later, Livey said about Reynolds, "I knew he would always be my best friend for my whole life. That was the biggest thing to me. I'd never known anything like the friendship that I had with him. I could like him as much as I loved him."
And then, in October 2016, they welcomed their second daughter. Lively's famous friends like Tylor Swift visited her in the hospital in Manhattan. The couple named their daughter Inez Reynolds as revealed by Us Weekly.
November 2016: Reynolds gushes about Lively.
The ultra-cute husband gushed about Lively in an interview with O magazine and talked about the moment when he learned that Lively was the one! He said, "We were hanging out at this little restaurant in Tribeca that's open really late, and this song came on, and I was just like, 'Want to dance?' No one was in there, so it was just totally empty. And it was just one of those moments where halfway through the dance, it was like, 'Oh, I think I just crossed a line.' And then I walked her home."

The couple once again revealed that they were expecting when Blake attended the premiere of her husband's film "Detective Pikachu" looking very much pregnant in May. Sources were quick to chime in and said to People Magazine, "They are so happy and excited about having another baby."
And, hence in October 2019, the couple became parents to a daughter for the third time. Reynolds soon shared a picture of his wife and a baby in a carrier who could be their third child only. The news of the child's name was revealed by Taylor Swift. She released her album"Folklore" that debuted a song named "Betty." The album also includes the names of the couple's other two daughters. Hence, it confirmed that Blake and Reynolds's third daughter is named Betty.
July 2021: The couple is very much in love after a decade together

Now, after ten years of dating and marital bliss, the couple is still very much in love. Earlier this year, in July, Reynold revealed more about his relationship with Lively in his usual comedic manner. According to HollywoodLife, he talked about their relationship in his "Smartless: podcast. He said, "I met Blake on the darkest crease in the anus of the universe called 'Green Lantern.' We were friends and buddies, and about a year and a half later, we went on a double date, but we were dating separate people."
"Next thing you know, she was going to Boston, I was going to Boston, and I said, 'Well, I'll ride with you,'" he said. "We got on the train, and we rode together. I was just begging her to sleep with me," he said.
