Getting to work with the legends of the age is an opportunity that not many get to enjoy. But Tom Holland not only did get the chance to star in one of the most epic franchises of the time but also got to star in the metaverse that called forward a legendary reunion of the three Spider-Men.

Just like anyone else would be, Tom Holland was extremely excited to work along with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Sharing how he anticipated the moments before the day he actually had to shoot with the two former web-slingers, he revealed that he was actually nervous.

Tom Holland was passed the torch for the Spider-Man role in Captain America: Civil War, back from 2016. Then he came to play the titular role of the superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming, the film directed by Jon Watts. The franchise first starred Tobey Maguire in the role of Spider-Man under the direction of Sam Raimi. He starred in Raimi's trilogy from 2002 to 2007 and was then succeeded by Andrew Garfield.

The reboot series then employed Garfield to play Peter Parker in 2012, and he once again reprised the role in 2014. While all the three Spider-Man is extremely talented and versed with their distinctive capabilities, seeing the trio of them together in a single experience made a phenomenal experience.

The multiverse plotline necessitated all three of them to shoot together, apart from also bringing the original villains from the series back into the area for Holland's Peter to fight. Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Electro, Lizard, and Sandman made sure that the latest web-slinger had to put one hell of a fight and their interference mandated the bringing forward of the other two Spideys.

When Tom Holland joined Maguire and Garfield for a Spider-Man: No Way Home interview, the actor revealed all the emotions he went through when he had to star with the two legends. Sharing how nervous he was, Holland said that he marked "the other Spider-Mans are coming" on his calendar as he prepared for the big date.

In order to help with his nerves, the actor asked Zendaya and Jacob Batalon to stay with him on the shoot for moral support. Recalling the events leading up to that day, Tom Holland shared, "It was very daunting because we were a long way into shooting before you guys showed up, you know, we were maybe 3 months into principal photography and ... the date of 'the other Spider-Mans are coming' was etched on my calendar, and I was getting closer and closer and closer, and you know, the closer and closer I got, the more and more nervous I was."

In a lengthy speech about how he anticipated the moments but then the two actors made sure that he was alright, he said, "And then as soon as I met you guys in Atlanta, I realized I had nothing to be nervous about ... At our first rehearsal, I had asked Jacob and Zendaya to come with me to just kind of be there as, like, my support system, like 'I'm gonna go meet these guys, I'm really nervous about it, we have to read the scene, and I don't know how this is gonna go because we're all playing the same character and we all have to bring our own kind of heart and soul into this and ... it means a lot to them and it means a lot to me."

Garfield also revealed that the script of the story was something that sold him and helped him say yes to the reprising role. In the specific moments where he was able to save Zendaya's MJ from falling to her death, Garfield said that he could finally redeem himself for the death of Gwen Stacy, played by Emma Stone

Recently, Maguire also shared what it was like to say yes to the film and which part of the script helped bring him into the multiverse fold. "I was intrigued immediately. In that conversation, the intention, the kind of love and celebration of these movies, and what it meant, I think to Amy and Kevin was apparent," he revealed. "To me, when artists or people who are, um, steering the creative process have a kind of authentic, genuine intent of celebration and love, it just was so apparent in both of them that I just wanted to join that."

"I did appreciate what was shared. But, it was really about getting together with these people and revisiting what was part of my history and getting a chance to like come together," he continued. "There are personal things too, which are kind of resolutions or a way to revisit and… I'm not quite sure how to put it. It's just to get back into that and I don't want to say like close the chapter… But revisit and have certain resolutions and just join in this loving creative spirit."

The film is truly a work of art and managed to impress the audience, setting many records in cinema. It is amazing to see such a possibility exist in the multiverse tropes.
