Tory Lanez’s actions have caused him a huge setback.

According to sources, Tory Lanez who is charged with shooting singer Megan Thee Stallion in the foot appeared at the hearing in Los Angeles and was taken into custody after Judge David Herriford ruled out that Tory Lanez had violated the protective order on Tuesday.

Tory Lanez was handcuffed inside the courtroom and was supposed to be on remand until he posted new bail, which the judge increased to $350,000, according to Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dillion. Tory Lanez used social media to accuse Megan Thee Stallion of framing him and shared some crucial information about the case with a third party, prompting the decision to violate the protective order. Tory Lanez was released after he posted bail several hours later.

The judge asked Tory Lanez to keep things about the case and Megan Thee Stallion’s name off social media for his good. The reporter shared that the judge had noticed that Tory Lanez had continued to harass and intimidate Megan Thee Stallion on social media.

Among the violations, one of the things that were mentioned were leaking the essential DNA-related information to blogger DJ Akademiks before the hearing. Judge Herriford also mentioned that even though Tory Lanez did not try to contact Megan herself, some of her tweets were a clear indication that he was tweeting them for her to get the message.

Megan Thee Stallion’s attorney, Alex Spiro, shared that the judge has found sufficient evidence for a trial against Tory Lanez, along with evidence that states that Tory has violated the order of protection, which led to him being handcuffed inside the courtroom. She also added that the self-servicing noise in the case is not going to change the fact that Tory Lanez shot Megan or prevent her from proceeding and finding justice.

Tory Lanez’s attorney, Shawn Holley, stated that Tory had not provided any information related to the DNA results to blogger DJ Akademiks and added that the tweet, which is now deleted, was not entirely accurate. Holley added that the investigation that was carried out to find the DNA on the weapon had four contributors, making it inconclusive whether Tory Lanez’s DNA was on it. She in return also argued that Megan Thee Stallion has also used her social media to talk about the case but the Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta said that Tory Lanez's endorsement of DJ Akademiks' tweets seems to be his way of getting ahead and manipulative the narrative of the case.

Kathy Ta also clarified that Megan Thee Stallion has been getting death threats and is being harassed continuously online due to the comments made by Tory Lanez and DJ Akademiks

In October 2020, Tory Lanez was charged with one felony count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, personal use of a firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He pleaded not guilty to both charges in November 2020. LAPD Det. Ryan Stogner had testified in December 2021 stating that Tory Lanez shouted "Dance, bitch!" before he shot Megan in the foot. Ryan also added that Tory apologized to Megan and tried to offer her some money and begged her not to say anything. Megan Thee Stallion shared with the detective that Tory was scared because he had told her that he was on probation already and did not wish to have any more troubles.

A trial has been set for September, and Tory Lanez was ordered to return to court for a June hearing. If Tory Lanez is convicted, then the rapper could face up to 23 years in prison.
