Emily Ratajkowski talks about Britney Spears, her new podcast, and much more.

During a recent interview with Variety, Emily Ratajkowski said that she is still thinking about how everyone reacts to Britney Spears’ expression of how she wants to live her life.

She stated that Britney Spears has been through things that could affect a person for the rest of their life, and she has this public stage where people will continue to watch her, which makes her sad. Emily Ratajkowski explained that what makes her sad is when people tell her she is a mother, especially when it comes to her defiantly explicit photos.

Emily went on to say that she believes Britney Spears has a complicated relationship with sexualization, but now she is doing it on her terms, so why is she being ripped off for that, and why is her motherhood brought up in every conversation? The model stated that she does not understand why the general public despises women and that it constantly surprises her.

Emily Ratajkowski also discussed her upcoming podcast, "High Low with EmRata," which will be released on November 1st. She described her podcast as an amalgamation of "Call Her Daddy meets Fresh Air," and said that she will be taking cues from co-hosts such as Kar Swisher, Howard Stern, and even Joe Rogan to be her best on the podcast.

She stated unequivocally that she does not agree with Joe Rogan's politics, but there is something that works for them, adding that if the one sitting for the interview does not feel like they are pursuing the chat in the same way that an audience is, then it's just not interesting, and Joe Rogan does listen. Emily stated that Joe Rogan has a point of view and asks questions that reflect that viewpoint, which she finds inspiring.

"High Low" episodes will be released twice a week, with a bonus episode for subscribers. One episode will feature a guest interview, and the other will be a scripted monologue that she will approach similar to how she approached her essays. Unsurprisingly, given the themes of her book, which are about reclaiming influence from an industry ascertained to define her, she says she's most enthusiastic about generating the show in her own Emily's way.

Emily Ratajkowski also acknowledged her stance on the TikTok model, Sumner being held responsible in the situation with Adam Levine, and said that she is extremely familiar with the sorts of power dynamics that prevail between men and women, adding that she witnessed another instance where people chose to attack a young woman rather than a powerful man, which she did not like.

In response, she shared a pair of TikTok videos explaining her point of view, which have received over 4 million views. Emily stated that it was not truly about Adam Levine. She stated that she had just responded to a woman who was discussing how women must change and adjust to prepare for men's behavior, which is something she has been talking and writing about for a long time. What about those women's 'Boys will be boys' attitude? We must do better.

Emily Ratajkowski stated that she prefers TikTok because she can simply have fun, dance with her son, and post alluring snippets of events. As a celebrity, she has a complicated relationship with the internet, and she mentioned that one of the things she writes about in the book's final essay is control and comprehension that one of the best methods for actually being glad and having some semblance of control is to let go. Emily conceded that she is newly single for the first time in her life, and she is just enjoying the independence of not being overly concerned with how others perceive her.

Emily explains that she prefers TikTok to Instagram because it allows her to be more "unfiltered" than she was able to be on other social media platforms. She stated that all one has to aspire for is to be as honest and upfront as possible, and to make it appear as if people are just in their iPhone camera roll. TikTok, she says, is a perfect medium for her because she enjoys vulnerability and radical honesty.

When asked about the industry's progress since #MeToo, Emily stated that while there is some accountability now, she does not believe there is much empathy or deep understanding of women's positions in the world. She observes wryly that men appear to be making a comeback. She stated during the interview that she was not astonished that many of the people who responded to her post were unimpressed with her.

She stated that women seeking attention are a classic misogyny popular issue, and it is what causes people to accuse a woman of wanting attention. She stated that she is well aware of this, mentioning that she is aware that she receives a lot of criticism, but her motto these days is the girl who gets it, gets it.
