Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is ready to make an appearance and has already dropped its trailer earlier for the fans to watch. Jeff Fowler will be presiding over the film as the director and introduced Knuckles into the film along with Tails. 

The film is expected to feature a lot of Easter Eggs and features a special transformation where Jim Carrey transforms into the Eggman, a character from the games. Now that the film is already ready to release its sequel, fans can't wait to know if the film will also continue into a third Sonic movie. 

The director revealed that even if the fans were not asking him to look into a possible third installment in the series, he would still imagine and feel excited about such an opportunity. He explained that even when designing the animations or the visual effects for the first and the second film, he had started fantasizing further about the new characters and the possible expansion of the story. 

The creation process is like working with a blank canvas, told the director, which is extremely open to new ideas. However, the director did reveal that if he will be commanded to bring through another film in the series, he will be prepared with a set of ideas and blueprints to make another film. He is excited to receive such an opportunity. 

The sequel shows Sonic trying his best to become a real hero and gets a chance to prove himself when he meets Dr. Robotnik, played by Jim Carrey. The doctor comes back with a new character, Knuckles, and is looking for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. 

Sonic and Tails come together to prove their worth and save the world from destruction. The two get out into the world as they search far and wide to get their hands on the emerald before the evil forces take it and use it for destruction. 

The film stars James Marsden and Ben Schwartz as the voice actors of Sonic. Other actors are Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, Shemar Moore, and Idris Elba, who will be starring in Knuckles. Tails will be played by Colleen O'Shaughnessey.

The director shared that the audience is very likely to love the sequel to Sonic Hedgehog. Explaining why he thinks that the film will receive a good reaction, he revealed that Tim Miller, a director who barely likes anything, appreciated the sequel. 

He said that he has worked with Miller for 15 years, but he is very sparse with good words when it comes to praising anything. Yet, he offered his appreciation of the film and that is a great review for the film. 

The film is also expected to have much more far-reaching consequences than the first film in the installment. The characters of Tails and Knuckles have a lot to offer to the film, and their adventure provides a big ground for the film to explore. 

Not only does the film have a healthy dose of humor but is also good at handling emotions, which are a major part of the sequel. The audience will find themselves relating with the character, and even grow up with him. Needless to say, all the other characters are just as important and are explored to their full potential.  

Sharing what it was like to make Sonic Hedgehog 2, the director shared that filming the second movie made him realize that his audience trusts him with the installment. The fans have been together in the journey, and while there will be challenges that they will need to face, they were prepared for it because they have already created a successful first film in the series. 

With the characters and Sonic already being familiar to the audience, the second film had to employ less time to set the tone of the film. Instead, they worked on the story and how the fans will relate to the world built in the film. 

One very difficult challenge for the film was to compute the budget they would need to star Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails in the maximum number of scenes. The VFX required to render these characters costs a lot, but the film is not shy on scenes that star these characters. 

Fowler revealed that they had done the entire match of the depiction of these characters before they began the production of the film instead of starting work with whatever budget they had. They were clear on the fact that the audience wanted to see more of the star characters and hence had to bring forward the best narration and animation. 

They had already cleared the prowess of the movie early on and had decided to produce a grand picture. Yet, they also managed to stay true to the tone of the film.

Telling about the name of the film, the director shared that he never thought of another name for the film other than Sonic the Hedgehog 2. He said the title was the last thing on his mind, as the story, the characters, and other things enjoyed the front seat. Regardless, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was a natural enough title for the series sequel.
