Cara Delevingne is going to be Selena Gomez’s lover!

The second season of "Only Murders In the Building" drops on June 28th on Hulu and show runner and co-creator John Hoffman recently spoke to Vanity Fair about the growing cast of the successful show, which also includes Cara Delevingne, who is going to play Alice, a sophisticated art gallery owner who happens to be living with Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin’s characters in the fictitious Arconia apartment complex.

The publication reported that Alice was going to put Mabel Mora, who is played by Selena Gomez, in touch with a side of herself that she had been neglecting for a while. Cara Delevingne told Elle in February that Alice is a character that is most like her compared to any other character she has played, but with more daring looks.

Talking about being a love interest to Selena Gomez, Cara mentioned that the two have known each other for a while and it’s fun to get to work together for the first time. She later clarified that they were working together for the second time because Cara Delevingne was hired by Selena Gomez when she was just starting as a model and Selena had designed a clothing line. She mentioned that they have known each other for a long time, but working with Steve Martin and Martin Short felt like a master class in comedy and added that she felt really lucky to get an opportunity to be a part of the project.

Shirley MacLaine and Amy Schumer are also going to join the cast of the show where Amy Schumer is going to play a slightly unbearable version of herself who will rent the penthouse leased by Sting in the first season. Showrunner and co-creator of the show, John Hoffman, shared that it was amazing to have both Selena Gomez and Cara Delevingne had an easy and comfortable relationship on the show because they had known each other for a long time. Alice will add a little spark in all the right ways, according to John Hoffman, making the audience feel like someone is opening someone's world.

The showrunner also expressed gratitude to the fans for their love and support, as well as their candid feedback, which allowed them to further explore Mabel's relationship, and mentioned because of the love and support the season one received from the audience and the critics, it allowed them to have opportunities to explore more ideas and trust that the audience would follow them. It gave them more confidence in their approach for season two, according to John.

The murder of Arconia board president Bunny, played by Jayne Houdyshell, is the central mystery. In season one's finale episode, Bunny is found dead in Mabel's (Selena Gomez) apartment and it appeared to the audience like Mabel who is shown kneeling over is coated in blood which makes it seem like she committed the crime herself. Mabel and her pals, Charles (Steve Martin) and Oliver (Martin Short), are escorted out by the cops before any information about what transpired is revealed, thereby ending the season and leaving viewers with a big cliffhanger.
