The Real Housewives of Miami star Larsa Pippen is opening up about the traumatizing experience she had in her marriage with ex-husband Scottie Pippen.
During an episode of The Real Housewives of Miami, Larsa Pippen was seen talking to co-star Alexia Echevarria about her divorce from retired NBA star Scottie Pippen and described him as ‘the Punisher’. She explained to Alexia, "I don't even know what's happening. I was trying to force him to sell the house and once I started doing that, he was kind of like, 'You have to send 14-year-old daughter Sophia back to L.A.' and I was like traumatized."
Larsa Pippen continued, "If he doesn't get his way, he punishes me. He's like the Punisher. I think Scottie's used to controlling the narrative. This is like his last piece of control he's got over me and the kids. He's only punishing me because I'm making him sell the house. He's pushing all the buttons to let me know I'm not in charge. I'm doing whatever the hell makes me happy." In late 2020, Larsa Pippen was linked to Malik Beasley who happened to be 22-years younger than her, and explained, “If dating someone younger makes me happy, I'm doing it. This leads me to believe it's a jealousy problem, that jealousy is the underlying issue.” She lastly added, "But you know what's funny? I feel like, five years ago, if you asked me would, I be divorced, I'd say no way."
The reality TV star also shared with her friend that she does not like to chase anyone and only prefers to spend her time with people who make her feel the best and most important. She further mentioned, "I don't necessarily like athletes. I don't necessarily need to be with one type of person. I do like guys who are bosses. I've dated athletes in the past because that's kind of like my comfort zone, I'm used to that lifestyle. Do I really want to date an athlete, probably not, but that's what I'm used to."
In between the conversation, one of the people from the crew was heard talking about Malik Beasley and Larsa said, "He's known for being in my past. He's so far back behind me I don't even want to look back, it might ruin my hair." Malik Beasley and Larsa Pippen’s dating rumors started to spread in late 2020 and where Larsa thought Malik and his partner have broken up, the reality is that Malik was still married which lead to social media drama. Larsa called him, "a clout chaser who pursued me relentlessly".
Alexia Echevarria who heard Larsa Pippen’s story went ahead to share her thoughts on the matter during a confessional interview and said, “Larsa needs to cut that umbilical cord. She's just too close to Scottie, and the truth is no man that she ever dates is going to be okay with that. And I don't even think that's good for Larsa."
The reality TV star further reflected back on her relationship with NBA retired Scottie Pippen and told Alexia, "I would expect so much. I would expect a guy to do so much for me. Because that's what I've had. If you're not going to do a whole bunch of things for me, then why would I want to be with you? I'd rather be alone."
During an episode of girls’ night out, Larsa opened up to Kiki Barth about what kind of guy she’d look for and described, "For me to date a guy, he has to show me. I don't chase something that's not for me, do you know what I mean? Whoever pursues me wants to spend time with me and get to know me. You can be 30, you can be 35, you can be 55, you can be 75. I just like who I like. Be with the person who makes you feel the best."

Larsa and Scottie got married in 1997 at the First United Methodist Temple in Chicago without a prenup. In 2016, Scottie Pippen filed a divorce from Larsa Pippen and three days later, Larsa said in a statement, “After careful consideration and 19 years together, Larsa and Scottie have each filed for dissolution of their marriage. Although they are no longer to be married, Larsa remains hopeful that she and Scottie will always do what is best for their 4 beautiful children and jointly raise them with love and respect. She would like to thank everyone for their understanding and kindly ask for privacy from the media during this difficult time of transition for her family.”
The couple decide to work things out and shred divorce and give their love and relationship another chance but in 2018, Larsa Pippen decided to file the divorce and in December 2021, their divorce was finalized. The two have been working hard to co-parent their four kids and Larsa stated that they are best friends and co-parents at the same time.
