Camille Vasquez has finally spoken out about the romance rumors surrounding Johnny Depp

Camille Vasquez, Johnny Depp's lawyer, is aware of the romantic rumors about her and her client, Johnny Depp, that have been circulating on social media. Camille Vasquez has been praised for her dedication and on-point cross-examination of the witness during the six-week defamation trial that was held in Fairfax County Court, Virginia. Camille Vasquez is professional and happy in a relationship with someone else, according to a source who told People in May that the allegations surrounding them were incorrect.

In a recent interview with People magazine, the attorney publicly addressed the speculated romance rumors and stated that it’s false speculation and adding that it's simply part of being a woman trying to perform her job. Camille Vasquez expressed her disappointment that certain sources and organizations went with such a narrative, or that her dealings with Johnny Depp, whom she describes as a friend and for whom she has represented him for the past four and a half years, were improper and unprofessional.

Camille Vasquez said that it’s very disappointing to hear such things when she is very professional in her job. The lawyer who was recently promoted as a partner at the Brown Rudnick law firm said that she deeply cares about her clients and they have become close, and added that when she says the entire team, that includes Johnny Depp too. Camille added that she is Cuban and Colombian and tactile, who hugs everyone and is not ashamed of it.

The lawyer, who has garnered a lot of support and love from social media, added during the interview that she loves her work and when she says she loves it, she means she loves it. She went on to say that Johnny Depp was fighting for his life and wanted to speak the truth that he had kept inside him for six-year and it hurt her heart to watch him sitting there day after day listening to the most heinous claims and accusations leveled against him. Camille stated that she would console him in any way she could, whether it was by holding his hand or reassuring him that the entire team believed in him, was there for him, and would fight for him because he earned it.

There were several instances during the trial where Benjamin Chew was seen consoling or supporting or having a small talk with Johnny Depp to lighten his mood or situation. While presenting the closing statement for Johnny Depp, Ben Chew was seen getting emotional and was seen hugging Johnny Depp as he went back to his chair which just shows how much they believed in him.

Camille Vasquez said that she has a partner with whom she is very happy and added that it is unethical for lawyers to date their clients. She added that it’s sexist and unfortunate that people started these rumors, but at the same time, it kind of comes with the territory and she was not surprised. Throughout the six-week trial, Johnny Depp’s team was highly praised on social media for their quick and on-point cross-examination, but Benjamin Chew and Camille Vasquez were pretty much highlighted the most.

Speaking about that, Camille Vasquez said that she finds it funny but surreal and overwhelming, but if she can inspire a young woman to stay in school, work hard, and maybe pursue a career in law, then all of this was worth it. She finally concluded that TikTok is the new medium for communication, and that's how young people and people in general communicate, absorb news, and become inspired. If that's the forum, so be it.

During the conversation, she also mentioned that her legal team feels that victims of all genders, including women and men, should come forward and have their day in court, and that this case is an example of that. She went on to say that after hearing both sides' statements and seeing all of the material from both sides for six weeks, the jury unanimously agreed that Johnny Depp had been defamed. The lawyer went on to say that she doesn't think it gets any clearer than that and that each situation is unique and shouldn't affect any progress. Camille also remarked that domestic abuse is gender-neutral and that she believes it takes the same amount of guts, regardless of gender, to come forward and expose your entire life in the way that Johnny Depp did, and to do so because he believed it was critical to get the truth out.

The lawyer praised Johnny Depp for his bravery and courage, as she would every other victim of domestic violence who comes forward and stands up, eager to have their day in court and have everything about their lives exposed to seek justice and the truth. Following the decision, Amber Heard's team issued a statement saying that the verdict is a setback for women who speak out against domestic abuse and how they are handled in the courtroom.

Both Benjamin Chew and Camille Vasquez believe that domestic violence does not have a gender and that the verdict is not a setback. It’s going to help people come forward because they will be assured that they will be given a chance at a fair trial (not televised though).
