The trailer of The Price of Glee has just dropped.

Glee aired on Fox from 2009 to 2015 and quickly became a youth trend, but the show's members of the cast have been embroiled in scandals such as substance use, pornographic material, and racial prejudice.

Investigation Discovery has released the Price of Glee trailer, and viewers believe it is heartbreaking as it explores the negative underbelly of the series. The three-part series will also cover the deaths of Glee alums Cory Monteith, who played Fin Hudson on the show, Naya Rivera, who played Santana Lopez, and Mark Salling, who played Noah Puckerman.

The trailer of the three-part document series starts with a montage of the light moments of the cast before cutting into an interview with a subject revealing the moment they were told that actor Cory Monteith has passed away. The trailer includes a graphic asserting that ten actors managed to make their tv career on Glee in 2009, and by 2020, all of them seem to be world-renowned, but three are dead.

The Investigation Discovery trailer delves deeper into highlighting some of the cast and crew, as well as the audience, accessing the deaths of actors Cory Monteith, who died in 2013 from a drug overdose. In real life, he was engaged to his on-screen romantic lead Lea Michele, and he died after years of struggling with substance abuse. Mark Salling committed suicide in 2018 after being found guilty of child pornography charges. He was alleged of rape and abuse while on the show, and he dated his co-star Naya Rivera. Finally, Naya Rivera died in 2020 as a result of the accidental sinking, but she saved her 4-year-old son, and her body was discovered on the seventh anniversary of Cory Monteith's death. Naya Rivera was previously taken into custody for domestic battery after violently attacking her child's father, Jack Dorsey.

The series will include on-set and off-set photos and videos, never-before-seen conversations about the demands of being on a hit TV show, and interviews with relatives and friends of Glee cast members, including hairdressers, stylists, set decorators, and publicists. While commemorating the show's lasting impact on popular culture and unprecedented success, Jason Sarlanis, President of Crime and Investigative Content, Linear and Streaming, points out that The Price of Glee is a hard take on the enormous pressure that eventually leads to being mobilized to superstar status and sheds a different light on the tragic events that occurred to the Glee cast and crew.

According to a press release for the docuseries, Glee was a once-in-a-generation cultural phenomenon that bravely challenged social norms and sparked groundbreaking conversations about sexuality, race, disability, and family. Each music-filled week brought joy to so many people, but even one of television's joyous shows really can not escape Hollywood's ugly side and the frenzy of rapidly growing social media. Viewers will learn about Cory Monteith's struggles with substance abuse, Mark Salling's troubling secret, and Naya Rivera's worrisome rise to fame from people close to the three of them. Someone in the trailer says that they don’t want to say the ‘c’ word (curse) but the mind goes straightaway to that.
