Paris Hilton talks about motherhood and surrogacy.
In a recent digital cover issue for Glamour, Paris Hilton spoke to Emily Maddick about motherhood and the reason why she chose to have a baby via surrogacy.
Paris Hilton announced on January 25th, 2023, that she and her husband Carter Reum have welcomed a baby boy via surrogate, and she went ahead to reveal the name of their baby on her recent episode of This Is Paris podcast: Phoenix Barron Hilton Reum.
The hotel heiress shared with Emily Maddick that because her life had become so open over the years, the couple was interested in keeping the news of her child's birth to themselves, which she claimed was difficult since it was such a thrilling time for the family, but she enjoyed being able to share this joy with her husband alone. Paris asserts to be obsessed with Phoenix, and she softens whenever he looks at her.
During the conversation, Paris Hilton disclosed that she asked for advice from Kim Kardashian, a childhood friend and mother of four, and had her eggs frozen in her late thirties to have a baby on her own. She asserted that she had one round of IVF since Kim had discussed it with her and that she went through her eggs frozen. She did, however, mention when she began dating Carter, whom she'd known for 15 years but only started dating in November 2019, they came to the realization, just as COVID-19 hit, that freezing embryos seemed more sensible.
Paris revealed that she and Carter had previously been discussing the future when the world went dark, so she asked Carter what does he think about them making embryos which yeah let's get started. Paris said that they've done it seven times now and she revealed she only has boys adding that they have twenty boys. But she says they'd prefer a girl.
Paris Hilton said she just went through the process again a month ago, and she is waiting and see if there are any girls she added that Kim also told her about it surrogacy and added that she is using the same doctor, Dr. Huang, who is the best, and he has a concierge team that handles everything and discussions the people [surrogates] to ensure their health. And she said that they're in the process of doing everything at present, so it's a lot.
She was asked if she was concerned about having a baby at her age which is why she used a surrogate to which she said no, even if she were 20, she will still use a surrogate. She said she is just so afraid that she thinks, having returned to the proof of really being in a doctor's office, just everything. The shots and the IVs assert they used to take regular blood samples and added that when she was in The Simple Life, she was always in a room while a woman gave birth, which tormented me as well. But Paris Hilton said she desperately wanted to start a family; it's just a challenge to get started adding that she is just terrified. Paris Hilton said that childbirth and death are the two things that frighten her the most.
Paris testified before a government committee meeting at the Utah capitol in 2021 about reports of an assault at Provo Canyon and other schools. The hotel heiress said that many people tell her that if this can occur in Paris Hilton then they can't imagine what will happen to a poor foster child or an orphan.
Paris, who found her voice through political activism, is eager to speak out about the Supreme Court's repeal of Roe v. Wade last year, which restricts women's access to safe abortions—especially since she had an abortion in her early twenties. She said also didn't want to talk about it due to the amount of shame associated with it adding that she was a child, and she wasn't prepared for that.
The TV personality said that she believes it is significant and there's just so much politics and everything, but it's a woman's body... Why should a law be based on that? Paris said that she believes that it's the woman's body and their decision and it's perplexing to her that they're making laws about what you do with your reproductive health because if it were the other way around with the guys, things would be very different.
Paris Hilton was asked where she sees herself in the next ten years to which she said she simply seeking to remain normal and have a good time with her family and said that her mother told her that she has been so diligent and accomplished so much; just sit on the sidelines and smell the roses and enjoy it. She finally said that she is not quite certain, she just feels like she is finally starting to build a real life and living.
