John Wick is returning with Chapter 4, starring the legendary Keanu Reeves, and is directed by Chad Stahelski. The director recently spoke with Collider and shared some details about the film. 

The director shared that the fourth film is the installment in a sequel movie to the first three films and continues the events onwards. In fact, it provides a little of a conclusion to the film series. 

The film will be bringing forward many new characters and actors playing them, and they will bear witness to John Wick and his past life. The characters will provide Wick with a sense of family and brotherhood. The film shows the legendary character going through a little bit of an existential crisis. 

The film provides a satisfying conclusion to the events of the previous three films, and of course, Chapter 4 too. The title of the film is also so named to show that this is another chapter in the life of John Wick and that it is connected to his past very intricately. 

The film features a tonne of great action sequences that will have you shocked and surprised. Keanu Reeves has done amazing work with the stunts, along with Stahelski, who brought the best stunts team in the world to shoot the action sequences of the fourth Wick film. 

Talking about the stunts of the film, the director shared that Keanu is really good when it comes to playing the stunts and did amazing work with the new props in the film. The director also appreciated managing to find the best stunts team in the world to aid with their action scenes.

They made a whole team by collaborating with people from different countries. They brought in people from Japan, France, Bulgari, and more so that they could all add their individual skills to the film. This approach helped change the way they will be portraying their stunts.

Not only do they get to show different kinds of martial arts in their film, but playing out these stunts also brings freshness into the cinematography of the film. Hence, it will add different flavors to the action sequences. 

The film will see Ian McShane returning as Winston, while Lance Reddick will return as Charon in the movie. Others to star in the film include  Bill Skarsgård, Shamier Anderson, Scott Adkins, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Clancy Brown.

Most interestingly, the film also stars Donnie Yen, the phenomenal martial arts expert who will star as Caine in the film. He is shown to be a friend of Wick while they both poise against the threat of the same enemies. Yen worked in Hollywood earlier, but he shared that he enjoyed working with Reeves and the Wick film the most. 

Talking with Collider, director Staheklski admitted that John Wick: Chapter 4 is the momentary title of the film. Yet, the film is in progress, which means they could choose a different title with time. The director is still looking for catchy titles.

Sharing what it is like to make a movie and choose the title, the director said that they first created the film and did not think of a title. They would watch the film and the title would follow later. Hence, there is no chance of a disagreement with Lionsgate, the Studio in which John Wick 4 was made. 

Their main purpose is to watch the finished film and try to get what vibes the film resonates the most with. Hence, they look for words that are suitable to explain that, and just like that, they have the title of the film ready. 

The CinemaCon event features a little teaser trailer video from the film that featured some of its amazing action scenes and a lot of characters. They made sure that the new cast also had space on the trailer. That itself makes up for a lot when it comes to films like John Wick. 

John Wick: Chapter 4 will also probably be the final film in the John Wick franchise, and it will be closure for the audience and the characters. Yet, there is so much in development, and the film will release the next year in March, they have a lot of time to figure things out, where the franchise is headed, and even an alternative title. 

The director shared that he is also busy with a lot of other projects after John Wick and that they will probably keep him busy instead of allowing him to think about another John Wick. However, he did allow the hope of the John Wick franchise to continue saying that he will not say no to more John Wick productions.

Yet, his schedule is running tight at the moment. He is looking forward to working on other shows and films but also admitted that will like to work with Reeves again. But presently, they are only seeing the finish line for Chapter 4 of John Wick and are aiming to reach for it. Once they reach there, they might look to expand further. 

John Wick: Chapter 4 is slated for a late March release on March 24 next year in 2023.
