Liam Payne is sharing his COVID-19 experience along with relationship status.
Singer Liam Payne shared with People that he and model Maya Henry are still engaged and the quarantine helped them work on their relationship and eventually brought them closer.
Liam Payne and Maya Henry were recently spotted at the Taste of the Future Luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills and shared with the publication that they are still engaged and are very happy at the moment. The singer said it was probably the happiest they had been and are looking forward to spending time together.
Liam and Maya were first linked in 2018 and confirmed their relationship in 2019, and the One Direction singer popped the question in August 2020. It was reported that the pair had decided to end their relationship in June of last year, and Liam Payne confirmed their split when he appeared on The Diary of a CEO podcast, saying that he has not been very good at relationships.
Liam Payne added that he understands his pattern and knows that he has not been good at it. He also mentioned that in his previous relationship he was not giving his best version and was doing much better out of it which was not right for someone who was also involved in that relationship. Liam expressed his disappointment that he was not able to make the relationship work but intended to work on himself.
According to sources at the time mentioned that the two of them decided to go their own ways because of the timing and busy work schedule. Liam Payne and Maya Henry also had some distance between them so they decided to take some time off and work on themselves while living together in England. The sources revealed that Maya Henry has been very good for Liam as she keeps him grounded and is mellow which people around him appreciates and loved Maya for.
But after four months, in October, the couple walked the red carpet together in London, and it was reported that Liam and Maya decided to give their relationship another chance. Liam shared with the publication that the pair went through a lot during the pandemic, which helped them to work on their relationship as they were in quarantine together and both of them emerged stronger than ever in their relationship.
The One Direction singer also mentioned that during the pandemic, a lot of couples struggled and they are still married, so they are very happy that things worked out for the best for them. Liam Payne also discussed fatherhood, revealing that he shares 5-year-old Bear Grey with ex Cheryl Cole and that he sees him twice or thrice a week, and that when he does see him, he makes sure to spend all of his time with him and not do anything else.
Liam Payne added that he understands and wants his son and himself to have these moments and cherish them to the best of their ability. He admitted that Bear needs his father in his life and he gets very happy when he sees him, almost like a superhero, and Liam wants to keep it that way.
Liam recently celebrated Bear’s fifth birthday, which was attended by all of his son’s friends, and the singer mentioned that it was the first time that he got to know what Bear's birthday was. The 28-year-old singer mentioned that he met all of his high school friends and they were all really sweet and all of the kids had a great time, and that is all that matters.
The singer is also gearing up to captain the England football team for this year’s soccer aid and is going to play alongside Tom Grennan and Robbie Williams and is very excited. The singers are also going to perform at half-time. Liam said that it’s an honor for him to be a part of something so special and he cannot believe he gets to run out onto the field with his heroes and raise money for a great cause.
