Dollface has just received its second season on Hulu, and the cast is more excited than ever to be a part of the new season. The show will premiere on the streaming platform on February 11 and shows the story of three best friends living through a world that is just trying to rid the clutches of a pandemic.

Dollface has seen a considerable change in the relationship and friendship of Jules and Madison. The character is soon to be 30, and while she does not show much, she is a bit concerned about her career and what she is going to do ahead in life. Kat Dennings told Collider that turning 30 is not a big thing for her character or even her in real life.

"Turning 30, for Jules, is not a really big deal to her. Or maybe it is, and she's downplaying it as usual," began Dennings.

"I mean, in my real life, turning 30, I didn't feel like a big issue. It's only gotten better and better for me," she revealed. "But for Jules, I really hope that she can sort of getting in front of her issues, instead of just constantly being surprised by everything in life and reacting. That would be nice, but she might need a little therapy before that happens. But we all do."

On the other hand, Madison is a character who has sorted out and organized her life, especially in trying times like the pandemic. But things turned out to be the opposite of what she expected.

Brenda Song explained, "I think, coming out of the pandemic, Madison is really excited. At the end of season 1, she had that big breakup, but I think she's really excited. Then instead of getting promoted as she thought, she gets fired." Now that she is both emotionally and financially in a bad position, life is not so great for her. This has made her feel like she "is in a really uncomfortable and vulnerable place."

"She has no idea what to do because she's always put a lot of her self-worth behind her job and her success," revealed Song. "I think she put a lot of her energy into turning 30 because she had so many goals and milestones of where she thought she'd be when she was 30. And the fact that she's not there is an identity crisis for her on top of everything else."

However, in season 2, Madison will go on a journey where she will be 'rediscovering' herself and the things that she wants from her life. The whole process can include her realizing her self-worth, which will help her build both self-love and self-confidence, which she seems to have lost during the turn of events. Song shared that she relates with Madison and her feelings through this ordeal, saying, "I definitely went through in my 20s about to turn 30."

But it is not only Madison who is struggling with her love life. Jules is also on the edge with Wes as the two ended up in bad blood in the previous season. However, the actor still got to stay on the second season of the series, and some fans think that there might be a Jules and Wes reconciliation.

"The Wes thing is actually really interesting this season. He is still in the picture, but they're really not connecting," admitted Dennings. "This is played out in a lot of really fun scenes. Jules really likes him, and she wants to keep this going, but he keeps kind of putting her off and canceling last minute and things like that. It's dealt with in a really real way, I think."

Yet there is still hope for Jules's love life as she has now met a new boy who is 'really cute' as stated by the actress. The new guy Fender is played by Luke Cook, whom Dennings calls 'lovely', 'wonderful' and 'genius'. On the off-hand, this has created a love triangle with two men wanting to be with her and being indecisive Jules does not know whom to choose.

"In a very Jules way, this all kind of explodes. So, that's a really fun element of the season," revealed Dennings.

The season also brought in a really cool narrative technique where the characters of the season had to go through different dream scenarios. The whole concept is really relatable, shared Brenda Song.

"I think the anxiety tornado was one that I think hit close to home for all of us," she elaborated, "because when haven't we spiraled like that? When we were shooting that, I was like, "I feel like this is something that I've been through, for sure."

She also talked about the surrealist element bestowed to the series, saying that it helps draw out the 'crazy moments' of the show and expands them to a further notch.

"We always say that's where Jules has her freakouts," said Song, to which Dennings added, "Jules lives out her disaster scenario in Cat Lady Land."

Season 2 broadened on the dream scenario concept, and now all characters have their own anxiety dreams to contend with. "The fun of this season 2 is that all the girls come into this element. It's really cool, especially if you love season 1," said the actress. "It's so exciting to see Stella and Izzy and Madison in this world with her. Instead of it just being Jules living out her anxiety, it's now all the girls living out their anxieties."

The style has added another layer of connection for the characters as they get to live in each other's anxieties and feel what the other one is going through. Explaining what happened when Esther experienced her dream scenario because of her boyfriend, "She thinks he's canceling on her or something, she's getting more and more worked up, and then literally we're in a van storm chaser style in a tornado. And it is amazing. Instead of it just being Jules living her thing, all the girls get to bring their stories into the surreal part of the show."
