Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber have taken the Internet by storm.
At the second Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, held on October 15th, Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber appeared friendly and snuggled up for quick pictures clicked by professional photographer Tyrell Hampton.
Tyrell Hampton posted the pictures of Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber with a caption that read, "plot twist," and the Internet went into a frenzy. A source shared that both Hailey and Selena were very friendly with each other throughout the event, and they wanted to show the world that there was no bad blood or any sort of feud between the two of them.
Selena Gomez appeared in a chic black suit by Giorgio Armani with a satin lapel and flared trousers, which she paired with open-toe sandals and silver dangly earrings, and a bold index finger ring from Cartier, whereas Hailey Bieber appeared in a sultry strapless gown by Yves Saint Laurent’s spring/summer 2023 collection that had a torso cutout and ruched detailing. The model paired her sultry strapless gown with a vintage Tiffany & Co. necklace, and both the ladies looked gorgeous in their outfits.
A source that was at the event said that both Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber were in good spirits, very chill with each other, and very comfortable throughout the event and added that they have moved on and are happy in their own respective lives. The singer-actress and model wanted the fans to know that there is no bad blood between them and that they are very respectful and comfortable around each other, which is why the fans should stop pitting the two of them against each other.
A source close to Justin Bieber also shared that the singer feels happy that Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez can move on from the hate they have received online and have finally shown the world that there was no hostility or animosity between the two of them ever. The source added that he is happy that now everyone can move on from the situation and live their lives peacefully, the way one should live.
The pictures of the two come just weeks after Hailey Bieber appeared on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, where she revealed that after she got married to Justin Bieber, she had spoken to Selena Gomez and there was nothing but respect and love from both ends. She said that it’s all love and explained that the people involved in the situation know what happened and now they are good and know that they can walk away from the situation with clarity and respect. Hailey Bieber said that having been able to talk to Selena Gomez brought her a lot of peace and stated that no matter what they do, they will never be able to correct all the narratives about them.
Hailey Bieber also clarified that she did not steal Justin Bieber from Selena Gomez, as when Justin and Hailey got together, the singer was single and had closed the door on his on-again-off-again relationship with Selena Gomez. Hailey Bieber did mention that the hate she has received from both Justin Bieber's fans and Selena Gomez's fans did put her in a dark place where she kept thinking that she is not supposed to be there but after having conversations and working it through she understood that the hate stems from the fact that the fans wanted Justin Bieber to end up with someone else which did not happen. Hailey added that the fans should accept that he is with someone else and let them move on and should move on as well.
On asking if the couple had ever reached out to Selena Gomez asking her to address her fans for not being too vile to her on social media, Hailey Bieber said that Selena Gomez owes her nothing, adding that neither of them owes each other anything except respect, and Hailey said that she respects Selena Gomez a lot. Hailey Bieber mentioned that Selena Gomez has been in the industry longer than she and she understands that there is nothing that she could say or do to make people understand or fix things, adding that if she ever tries to address something, that would be amazing, but she does not have any expectations from her.
Selena Gomez did take to her social media to address the issue in a very subtle way, addressing that some of the things that she does not want to be aware of are just disgusting and it’s not fair to anyone because no one should ever be spoken to in the way she has seen. Selena Gomez said that all she has to say to her fans is that words matter and she would like her fans who support her and her cause to understand that. The actress mentioned that she is very grateful for everyone who supports her and understands her.
Selena Gomez’s documentary "My Mind and Me," which documents the past six years of her life, will premiere on Apple TV+ on November 4th.
