Drew Barrymore breaks down.

During a recent episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Pamela Anderson and Drew Barrymore got candid and emotional about raising their kids in the public eye and their hardships with fame.

Pamela Anderson recalled the drastic changes she had to make to make sure that their kids, Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Lee, whom she shares with her ex-husband Tommy Lee, grew up safely. She told the actress that her children were unaware that they had a security guard at school and that she employed someone to be an assistant PE trainer just to be present at the school since people were attempting to take them off the schoolyard.

Pamela mentioned that she had to find clever ways to kind of make the kids feel that everything was normal, but she needed to know whether eyes were on them or not; she was not going to take that chance. After which, Drew Barrymore, who is mother to Olive and Frankie, whom she shares with her ex-husband Will Kopelman, said that she can relate to the challenges of raising kids while being a public figure, and she shared with Pamela Anderson that she just wanted the public to not screw up with the kids because it was not okay since they did not sign up for it. She also revealed that when she had kids, everything in her life changed, and Pamela Anderson added that it’s true because when kids come, people start doing things they wouldn’t do for themselves but do for the kids.

Drew Barrymore told her guest, Pamela Anderson, that their entire lives may have been the best thing for preparing them to be parents, to which the Baywatch actress agreed, noting that she sincerely hoped that people would take something away and also trying to encourage Drew Barrymore, who broke down while expressing her experience, that she will survive this. Pamela Anderson recommended she be cautious with social networking sites and ensure that girls, even very young girls, understand how to keep themselves safe.

Drew Barrymore also mentioned how Pamela Anderson previously stated that she does not understand how to love someone who isn't the father of her children, i.e., Tommy Lee, during the interview. Pamela responded that it's just the connection she doesn't have with anybody else and that while others could say they can get past it, she can't, hasn't, and that's okay. The actress stated that she doesn't mind being alone for the rest of her life.

Pam went on to say that she has had wonderful, loving moments and that things don't always last forever for a reason, and that's okay. It's fine; it's all right. She believes that the last year she spent alone was the happiest of her life. Drew Barrymore contrasts her story to Anderson's, saying she appears to enjoy the process of exploring oneself. She sees so many resemblances between herself and her.
