Kate Moss got candid about her famous Calvin Klein photo shoot with actor Mark Wahlberg.

During an appearance in an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs podcast, which premiered on Sunday, Kate Moss recalled her experience with Mark Wahlberg during the Calvin Klein photoshoot in 1992.

The host, Lauren Laverne, asked the British model if she felt objectified during the photo shoot, to which Kate Moss replied that she definitely felt objectified during the shoot as she was completely vulnerable and scared during the entire shoot and added that maybe they played on her vulnerability as she was quite young and inexperienced at the time. The model shared with the host that she had to overcome her severe anxiety for the weeks leading up to the shoot. Kate Moss added that she couldn’t get out of bed and the doctor had to prescribe her Valium.

Speaking of Mark Wahlberg, Kate Moss said that she does not really have good memories before explaining that the actor was macho and the photo shoot was all about him, plus he had a big entourage and she was merely just a model. The model did not say anything negative about the actor but mentioned that the memories are not really warm to her. Earlier, speaking to Vanity Fair in 2012, Kate Moss opened up about her challenges during the shoot and said that she did not feel like she was even part of the shoot and felt bad about straddling a buffed-up guy, and shared that she did not like it and added that she couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks and she thought that she was going to die. She also mentioned that she had a nervous breakdown.

Kate Moss was a teenager when she was roped in for the Calvin Klein photoshoot and posed topless in the black-and-white photographs. She seems to be pressed against actor Mark Wahlberg’s body in some of the pictures.

In 2020, during an interview with The Guardian, Mark Wahlberg was asked about Kate Moss’ experience from the Calvin Klein photoshoot, to which he said that he never really had a problem with Kate Moss and added that he probably was a little rough around the edges and was doing his thing. Mark also recalled that he was not very worldly but he had seen her and exchanged greetings, and shared that they had seen each other at a concert here and there and they had exchanged greetings.

During an interview in 2010, Calvin Klein himself recalled the experience of working on the iconic ad and said that it did not go too well before adding that Kate Moss did not like Mark Wahlberg at all. He further mentioned that they have worked with so many women, great ones, and described Kate Moss as the most difficult one whereas said that Mark Wahlberg was a pleasure to work with.

During the same BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs podcast interview, Kate Moss also addressed the fact that she chose to testify for Johnny Depp in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard over an op-ed she had written for the Washington Post in 2018 and had described herself as a domestic violence and abuse survivor. Kate Moss said that she decided to take a stand and tell the world the truth about what had happened because she knew the truth. She said that she knows Johnny Depp and she needs the world to know the truth too.

Kate Moss appeared virtually at Fairfax County Court, Virginia, and denied all the rumors that Johnny Depp had pushed her down the stairs during the time they were dating between 1994 and 1998. She explained that they were on a vacation to Jamaica and Johnny Depp had left the room before she did, and it was raining heavily at the time, and as soon as she stepped out of the room, she had tripped down the stairs because of the water and hurt her back. Kate added that when she screamed in pain, the actor came running back, picked her up, took her to the room, and got her medical help.

The British model clarified that Johnny Depp never pushed her, kicked her, or threw her down the stairs. The jury eventually believed the witnesses and evidence that Johnny Depp's legal team had presented and he had won all the three counts of defamation trail.

The representatives of Calvin Klein have not yet responded to Kate Moss' recent comments.
