Miley Cyrus is safe and doing better!
On Wednesday morning, Miley Cyrus shared on social media that after her show in Bogotá, Colombia, she was traveling to the 2022 Asunción Music Festival in Paraguay when her plane was struck by lightning. For the ones who have been following the artist since her early days are aware of the fact that Miley Cyrus is scared to fly.
The singer-actress shared a short video clip on her social media, in which the audience can see a bright light flashing outside her window, and can hear some of the passengers gasping and shouting. Miley wrote on her social media for the fans and followers who reached out to her to know how she is doing that she, along with her crew, band, family, and friends who were traveling with her, are safe after the plane made an emergency landing.
Fans and friends were quick to comment on her post, stating that they were just thankful that she and the people she was traveling with were safe. Jeremy Scott commented that thank God everyone is safe, whereas some of her fans commented that they love her and they are happy to know that everyone is okay and safe.
Miley Cyrus also expressed her disappointment at not being able to fly to Paraguay for the show where she was scheduled to perform at the 2022 Asuncionico Festival, which is considered one of the largest rock festivals in Paraguay and is held in March but has not been held since 2019 due to the pandemic. Miley Cyrus was expected to draw a lot of attention and a large crowd at the festival, but unfortunately, she was not able to reach Paraguay.
Due to harsh weather conditions, the first day of the festival was also called off, where Machine Gun Kelly was scheduled to perform, but the weather did not stop the artist or the fans from catching onto the music they wanted to. The rapper tweeted from his Twitter account that he had ordered for a bigger speaker and the fans will get the show they wanted.
Machine Gun Kelly performed his set that was scheduled for the festival for the thousands of fans who were gathered around the La Mision Hotel Boutique’s entrance. On social media, the rapper posted a video of himself performing outside the hotel and fans went ahead and appreciated the gesture from the rapper. Other artists, including Foo Fighters and Doja Cat, were also scheduled to perform at the day one of the festival, which was eventually called off.
A representative for Miley Cyrus confirmed that she would still perform at the festival if the weather conditions remain calm and the second day is not canceled. According to reports, the country has been facing extreme weather conditions due to which the festival could be called off. Just a few hours ago, Asuncionico Festival's official social media announced that the festival has been called off due to the weather conditions and that the details of the refunds of the tickets will be shared on March 28th. They thanked everyone for their support and patience and concluded by saying that they expected the crowd to see it in 2023.
Miley Cyrus’ fans have been excited to see her perform after a long gap, especially with the fact that after her 2011 Gypsy Heart Tour, it was the first time she had traveled to South America. Miley Cyrus has confirmed that she will perform at Lollapalooza Brazil on March 26th, 2022.
