Trigger Warning: Domestic Violence

Selma Blair has been granted a restraining order against ex-Ronald Carlson after he tried to attack her in her Los Angeles house on February 22nd, 2022.

Ronald Carlson is ordered by the court to stay at least 100 yards away from Selma Blair and her son, Arthur Saint Blair Bleick. The American actress filed for a restraining order on February 25, 2022, as she alleged that Ronald Carlson, who was at her house to return a television set, assaulted

Selma shared in court that after completing a multiple sclerosis treatment that leaves her feeling for one week, she told Carlson that she was not feeling well while he was at the house to return the television set she had requested him to bring to watch VHS tapes. In response to her, Ronald Carlson verbally abused her by calling her useless and claiming that he could do so much better without her. She also mentioned that Ronald stated that she could not do anything and could not love anybody. In response to his verbal abuse, Selma replied by stating that she cannot put up with his behavior anymore and hopes that he’ll find someone else.

The actress added that Ronald became enraged and physically attacked her by jumping on top of her while she was lying on the sofa and strangled her, throttling her and shaking her head and shoulders aggressively. To defend herself from him, Selma put her fingers in his mouth and eyes while she cried for help from her housekeeper, who was upstairs.

Selma further explained that he soon put his hands over her mouth and face so that she’d stop screaming and started to push it down into the couch, which made it difficult for Selma to breathe. The documents further reveal that the actress lost consciousness for a brief moment before any further physical struggle. Ronald slapped her and pushed the side of her head, which caused her to fall back to the floor and left her with a nosebleed.

After the ex-boyfriend left, Selma called the Los Angeles Police Department, and as she was explaining the situation to them, her nose started to bleed and she passed out. The actress was immediately taken to the hospital for further treatment. The ex-boyfriend was arrested the same evening on charges of felony domestic violence with corporal injuries.

Selma Blair was granted a 5-day protective order by the LAPD and was placed against Ronald Carlson. The officers urged the actress to file for a restraining order before five days or her protective order was completed. The pictures showcased by the LAPD show bruising around Selma’s neck, chin, and hand. Selma Blair shared during the filing that she was afraid of the ex-boyfriend as he had an unregistered loaded firearm at his home and threatened to kill her during the attack.

The Los Angeles Superior Court granted the actress the restraining order against Ronald Carlson on February 25th, until her hearing on March 22nd to attain a permanent restraining order. Selma had stated in court that she is afraid for her safety and her son’s safety too, who lives with her. Selma’s assistant, who arrived 30 minutes later with her son, took pictures of her injuries.

Ronald Carlson has denied all the allegations, stating that he did not push or put his hands on Selma, but according to the reports, Ronald had scratches on his nose and under his left eye. He claims that Selma was angry when he refused to sit beside her in the house and scratched him. Ronald also claimed that her nose bleed had been an issue before their altercation.
