Zoë Kravitz opens up about why High Fidelity’s cancellation seemed like a mistake to her along with her upcoming movie, ‘Pussy Island’, and romance with Channing Tatum.

In her recent interview with Elle, Zoë Kravitz shared that starring in Hulu’s series 'High Fidelity' in 2020 helped her to expand her range not only as an actress but also as one of its executive producers and writers. But unfortunately, the series was canceled after the first season which led to the unapologetic actress Zoë Kravitz calling out Hulu for the lack of diversity in its programming.

Zoë Kravitz went ahead and wrote on her social media (now deleted), “It’s cool. At least Hulu has a ton of other shows starring women of color we can watch. Oh wait.” She further said in the interview, “They didn’t realize what that show was and what it could do. The amount of letters, DMs, people on the street, and women that look like us—like, that love for the show, it meant something to people. It was a big mistake.”

The actress is all set to grace the big screen as Selina Kyle (Catwoman) opposite Robert Pattinson in 'The Batman' directed by Matt Reeves. Talking about her role as Selina Kyle, Zoë Kravitz recalled the things she said to herself like, ‘Okay don’t get too excited. It’s not mine.’ She further revealed,Matt Reeves gave me a motorcycle helmet and was like, ‘Walk in, take it off, and start the scene.’ I was like, ‘This is how I don’t get the part.’ I don’t get the part because the helmet gets stuck on my head, and I don’t look cool. I’ll get my lines, but I will fuck up this helmet moment.” The actress remembered that when she was finalized for the part, Matt Reeves said to her, “You’re her”. The director added, Zoë Kravitz had her game face on. But you can only prepare so much, and then you just have to go—and she had it.”

Matt Reeves talks about filming with Zoë Kravitz and said, “There was never a moment where she was guarded or insecure. She has good instincts. She’s incredibly smart, very funny, honest, unpretentious, and she had great ideas about character evolution. She is a great creative partner.”  Zoë Kravitz was excited to be a part of the DC World but also mentioned that the fandom is wild and jokingly added, “When the announcement came out, I got more phone calls than I’d gotten on any birthday.” She shared about her catsuit and said, “Obviously, you want to look good in a catsuit, but I wanted it to be realistic that I’m able to do anything in this film. So I had to be strong. I got stronger than I’ve ever been. That felt good, to see what I was capable of. I felt confident—and I could kick some ass.” The audience has applauded the looks of bother Kravitz and Pattison and is waiting for the movie to come out.

Zoë Kravitz who spent five years writing MGM acquired the movie, ‘Pussy Island' along with friends E.T. Feigenbaum is excited to look at it finally happening. Describing the movie she says, “The film was originally inspired by the lack of conversation around the way women are treated specifically in the entertainment industry. I started writing it pre–#MeToo, pre–Harvey [Weinstein]. Then the world started to have the conversation, so [the script] changed a lot. It became more about a power struggle and what that power struggle means. I rewrote it a million times. Now we’re like, ‘Holy shit. We’re doing this!’ ” The actress, writer, musician and now a director is excited about her movie and the filming stars this summer and Steven Soderbergh believes that with ‘Pussy Island’, Zoë Kravitz is going to deliver something really distinctive. He adds, “She has a highly developed sense of equilibrium and is very inquisitive. It’s a pretty compelling combination.” Zoë Kravitz’s beau Channing Tatum is going to star in the movie as a billionaire lead and said, “Looking at his work and hearing him speak about Magic Mike and the live show, I’m like, I think he’s a feminist. You need to be so far from who this is, where it’s not scary. And I don’t think we’ve ever seen him play someone dark. I’m excited to see him do that.” She did not really say much about her romance but added, "I am happy". She mentioned that she had not met him before he was being considered for the part in her directorial debut but definitely heard about his work.

Lastly, she was asked if she was optimistic about love to which she replied, “I feel optimistic about life, and I think that comes hand in hand with it. All my relationships in life—my friendships, my romantic relationships, my family—the journey is learning how to show up honestly. Sometimes we can’t show up, and that’s okay as long as we know how to communicate that we love those people. That’s the 20-year-old who’s like, ‘I can do it all. I can do it all. I can do it all.’ And now I’m in a place where whatever I’m feeling is okay, wherever I’m at is okay.”
