Drew Barrymore is apologetic!

Actress Drew Barrymore issued an apology on her social media after she was made aware that people did not like the comment she made on the ongoing defamation trial between Johnny Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard.

Drew Barrymore posted a short clip on her social media and stated that it was reported to her that she has offended some people by making light of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard and she is apologetic for that. Drew added that she is thankful to the ones who made her aware that her comments had hurt some people deeply and she is going to take this moment as a teaching moment and is going to make sure how she moves forward with conducting herself.

The actress mentioned that she is hoping to be a more thoughtful and better person and from now she is going to learn better and do better. Drew Barrymore in one of her recent episodes of The Drew Barrymore Show, called the ongoing defamation trial a ‘one layer of crazy’ and ‘seven-layer dip of insanity’. She added during the episode that she understands that these two people (Johnny Depp and Amber Heard) are battling it out in public and being a public figure herself, she understands the position they are in but she concluded that both actors are offering this information that nobody wants to know and asked to know and that is crazy.

After the episode premiere, several people reported that Drew Barrymore’s remarks about the case are insensitive especially because the trial involves domestic and sexual abuse claims. Johnny Depp sued Amber Heard for $50 million for an op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in 2018 and Johnny Depp mentioned that since the op-ed went public, it went ahead to harm his reputation that he is a drunkard, drug addict who beats his wife which is not at all true.

Johnny Depp also lost his famous role as Capt. Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean's sixth installment and he was dropped by Disney just after the op-ed went public. Johnny Depp took the stand in Virginia for four days and explained his side of the story and mentioned that in this relationship, he is the victim, not Amber Heard. Johnny Depp also established that he has never struck a woman in his life and he did not in any way hit Amber Heard.

Amber Heard's lawyers claim that Johnny Depp assaulted her in numerous ways and have filed a countersuit for $100 million, alleging that after she was given a temporary restraining order, Johnny Depp engaged in ongoing harassment and online slander campaign against her.The trial is in it's fourth week with Johnny Depp's team resting their case and Amber Heard bracing herself to take the stand on Wednesday.
