Kanye ‘Ye’ West always finds a way to make it to headlines but this time it looks like he’s standing up family, i.e., Travis Scott.
Kanye 'Ye' West took to his social media account to call out singer Billie Eilish after she reportedly made a comment about concert safety during her concert show in Atlanta which to Kanye West seemed like she took a dig at Travis Scott and everything that went down at Astroworld Festival back in November.
Kanye posted a screenshot from an account (@RapSeaTv) on his social media, that read, “Billie Eilish dissed Travis Scott at her concert after she stopped the show to give her fan an inhaler! ‘I wait for the people to be okay before I keep going.'” Kanye West wrote in his caption, “Come on Billie we love you. Please apologize to Trav and to the families of the people who lost their lives. No one intended this to happen. Trav didn’t have any idea of what was happening when he was on stage and was very hurt by what happened, and yes Trav will be with me at Coachella, but now I need Billie to apologize before I perform.”

Billie Eilish responded by saying, “Literally never said a thing about Travis. Was just helping a fan.” Kanye’s demand for an apology comes after Billie stopped her show in Atlanta on February 5th to help a fan that she realized had trouble breathing. She instantly directed a medical staff to administer aid to the fan and asked the fans to take a step back and let the fan regain their composure. She said, “I wait for people to be OK until I keep going.” The fans and the audience were really impressed by the gesture and appreciated the singer. This was not the first time that the singer has helped out her fan while playing her set as she once handed over water to a concertgoer who was about to pass out at a gig in 2018.
How is Travis Scott involved? Travis Scott, founder of Astroworld Festival received a massive amount of backlash back in November 2021 as he went ahead and kept performing even after there was a lot of chaos that disrupted during the show, which eventually lead to ten people getting crushed by people in the crowd and died from the effects of various ailments including cardiac arrest and asphyxiation. Travis Scott was called out for allegedly ignoring the events that were taking place in front of him and was later accused of ignoring the concertgoers who needed medical assistance during his set. Several lawsuits were also filed against the rapper. So when Billie Eilish said that she waits for people to be okay before playing her set, some of the fans and Kanye took this comment as she made a dig at Travis for ignoring the need for a concertgoer.
Kanye West and Billie Eilish are heading to Coachella Valley Music and Art Festival in April and according to Ye’s caption even though Travis Scott was dropped by the organizers as one of the performers at the Coachella festival post Astroworld Festival chaos, he’d accompany Kanye West at the festival and probably perform with him. Travis Scott and Live Nation are facing lawsuits for billions of dollars as a result of damage from close to 2,800 victims. Travis Scott denied allegations of negligence and had requested to be dismissed from the lawsuit as he claimed that he couldn’t hear any screams from the crowd surge began. Travis said, "It's 50,000 people … you got lights, you got sound, you got [pyrotechnics], you got your in-ears, you got the band, there are all types of stuff going on. Everything kind of just sounds the same. At the end of the day, you just hear music." Although the rapper did send his condolences to the families who lost their kids during the crowd surge.
Kanye ‘Ye’ West who is currently in the middle of a divorce finalizing with ex-wife Kim Kardashian has been making headlines back to back recently. He blasted out Kim for letting their daughter North West use TikTok against his will, he demanded an apology from Kardashians for not giving him the location to his younger daughter Chicago’s birthday party. Kanye also claimed that Kim accused him of planning a hit on her and said, “These ideas can actually get someone locked up. They play like that with black mens' lives weather [sic] it's getting them free or getting them locked up. I'm not playing about my black children anymore.” He also made headlines because of his ongoing 'open relationship' romance with actress Julia Fox. Travis Scott has not yet commented on either Billie's comment or Kanye's demand for an apology.
