Athletes have an uncanny way to make comments that bring them under fire from the celebrity side of the industry. Just recently, Cam Newton made a comment about women who didn't allow men the chance to "lead" in relationships. 

In a recent podcast, Cam Newton made some horrible remarks, saying that some women do not understand when they should be quiet and let a man lead the flow. Fans were quick to rage hell against the quarterback player, who sits unemployed at the time. Looks like he forgot his own great advice when it came to "sexism."

Twitter users called out the player relentlessly for his misogynistic and sexist approach to intimacy and shared that he is still just like his old self who didn't know where to draw the line either. His hurtful comments came when he sat for a podcast talk with Barstool Sports million Dollaz Worth of Game. The podcast aired on Sunday, March 10.

Talking with hosts Gillie Da King and Wallace Peepers, the NFL quarterback went to share how he was brought up and what he thinks makes the cut as a woman and what 'does not.' He thinks that a woman is someone who would know to take care of herself but also deliver to the needs of her man. 

“Now, a woman for me is handling your own but knowing how to cater to a man’s needs. Right?” he said. He reasoned that women try to be all-powerful, yet they don't know how to cook, be quiet, or submit to a man. 

 “And I think a lot of times when you get that aesthetic of: ‘I’m a boss b-tch, Imma this, Imma that.’ No, baby. But you can’t cook. You don’t know when to be quiet. You don’t know how to allow a man to lead.”

Fans are taken aback by his comments and were quick to point out that his frequent rants only serve to embarrass Atlanta. Another athlete to enjoy similar notorious fame for problematic comments apart from Can Newton is T.I. People also joked that it is actually Newton who does not when is the best time to go quiet. 

Needless to mention, Newton is still in the search of a job. It is almost ironic that he wants a woman to take care of him when he himself does not know how to do that best. 

And it is not like he has had a great experience with women until now. The athlete fathered five children with a woman and then refused to marry her later on. His hypocrisy knows no bounds since he has no qualms about how a man should act and behave if he wishes to be a man of the family. 

Of course, the athlete has been hailed as a sexist, and people have also come against his playing style, criticizing the failure of his games earlier along with his inadequacy as a quarterback. It is of import that the athlete takes an inward look and sees his celebrity status before he tries saying things that won't help him with scoring a job. 

Many people also came to the rescue of the quarterback, explaining that he had only shown that he liked the "traditional" dynamics of relationships. Needless to say, such arguments further prove the point that Can Newton has sexist views and his perception regarding relationships is highly misogynistic. 

Women are not obligated to take care of the men in their life and do things that would appease the male society. 

There is yet no news on the fate of Cam Newton and how he is faring after his openly sexist and misogynistic comments. But seeing that Hollywood and celebrity figures rarely get to live with the consequences of their mistakes, it is possible that no one from the industry will even bat an eye when it would be crucial to stand against comments, such as that of Newton. 

Of course, this is not the first time Hollywood was under hot water for its conflicting stance on sexism and misogynistic comments. Just last year in December, Nicole Kidman came out against a reporter who bombarded her with a "sexist" question about her marriage with Tom Cruise. 

Apparently, the reporter had compared her failed marriage with Tom Cruise to her on-screen relationship with the character Desi Arnaz as Lucille Ball.

In Being the Ricardos, Kidman stars as Ball who was married to Arnaz. The two spent two decades together as a married couple but ended their relationship despite the great work they could do together. 

The actress defended the fact that while Ball and Arnaz were great together as creative people, they were not obligated to live a romantic life together too if the relationship did not work for them. 

Ball had sought a divorce from Arnaz in 1960 and Kidman revealed that it is okay to not have a happy ending for all your relationships. 

The film was a memorial to let people know that it is okay to experience great relationships and allow themselves to move on forward with the pieces that they can keep. People should not be forced to be in love or behave a certain way just because they are great in some sense but not in another.

So, when a reporter tried to diminish her marriage for having "failed" just like Lucille Ball and Arnaz, Kidman shared that she loved how Lucy's marriage ended. People could be very much in love, start a family together, and still have the right to walk away from experiences they don't like for themselves.
