Christina Applegate was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Christina Applegate, who revealed she has multiple sclerosis in August 2021, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her achievements throughout her career. Her co-stars and friends Katey Sagal, Selma Blair, David Faustino, and Linda Cardellini were there to support her. Christina Applegate was originally set to receive her star on the Walk of Fame in 2020, but the pandemic delayed the ceremony. She was emotional during the ceremony since it was the first public appearance of the actress after she revealed that she was diagnosed with MS.

Christina Applegate at the ceremony, she spoke about her journey since she was a child, saying that she has had a really interesting life, but it all began when she was a little girl waiting in the queue to see a first Star Wars on this very street at that very theatre. And wondering, "Who are these people?" when they see these things, the stars. What exactly are these things? Did they make a mistake? Did they make a mistake? She wants one of whatever it is. She's desperate for one.

The actress went on to say that she was five years old at the time, so being here and receiving her star tends to mean more to her than anyone would imagine. She noted that she couldn't stand for long, so she went right ahead and thanked the individuals she needed to thank. Christina began by thanking her family, specifically Katey Sagal, David Faustini, Liza Feldman, and Linda Cardellini, for their thoughtful words. Katey and David were her people and loves, she said.

Christina went ahead to say Katey and David are her everything, and she loves that she began and ended her career with them. While thanking her team of over two decades, the actress made a joke that shifting agents is like shifting deck chairs on the Titanic, therefore she has always stuck with her; she incorporated that they were all going to go down together.

The Dead to Me actress acknowledged that she does not call her friends "friends," because she calls them "family," as they take care of her every day of her life, and without them, she said, she does not know what she would do. Christina broke down in tears as she thanked her daughter Sadie Grace LeNobel, adding, that finally, the most significant individual in the world is her daughter. She stated that she is a lot more than she realises, adding that she is beautiful, warmhearted, full of love, intelligent, and intriguing, and that the actress recognises herself blessed every day that she gets to wake up and drive her to school. The actress went on to say that she is her everything and thanked her for sticking by her side through it all.

Christina Applegate then made a quick reference to her MS diagnosis, saying that if the audience has not noticed she is not wearing shoes and it's because she has a disease. She added, thank you so much; this is a tremendous honor.

Christina Applegate has previously faced health issues, she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, which was preceded by a double mastectomy. She had her ovaries and reproductive organs removed in 2017, went through surgery-induced menopause in 2018, and struggled from insomnia.

Last year, she was given a diagnosis with MS while filming the third season of her Netflix comedy, Dead to Me. Christina Applegate told Variety ahead of the Walk of Fame ceremony that shooting scenes in the final season of "Dead to Me" while having to battle MS was as challenging as you could imagine describing that to get to the set, the actor needed to use a wheelchair.

She stated that she was diagnosed while they were working and that she had to call everyone and say, "She has multiple sclerosis, guys." She went on to say that it was later about learning—all of us learning—what she was capable of. Season 3 of "Dead to Me" premiered on Netflix on November 17, and it will be Christina Applegate's first new project since her announcement about MS. She said people will see her for the very first time as a disabled person, which will be very difficult.
