Game of Thrones is coming back with its predecessor series that sheds light on the reign of the Targaryens, their life in Westeros, and how they all came down to that one civil war that changed the terms of history forever.

The sets of House of the Dragon are filled to the brim with an accumulation of real and sharp swords, as dangerous as an edged blade could ever be. Running all around the throne room built at London's Leavesden Studios, the swords are kept safe and covered with green tennis balls so that there are no accidental injuries.

Miguel Sapochnik, co-showrunner of the new series explained that they build fences around the sword collection to safeguard them. He revealed that many of the swords in the collection were real and capable of causing damage.

The series will have a reimagined version of the Iron Throne, as seen earlier in Game of Thrones. This one will be a lot similar to the one described by George R. R. Martin in his book A Song of Ice and Fire and the subsequent novels. The book series A Game of Thrones began in 1996.

The impeccable sword collection of the GOT franchise counts somewhere around 2,500, including all the prop swords and many more refined blades as seen in major productions like Warcraft and The Witcher on Netflix.

The Iron throne shown in the latest series falls just close to the myth of the original forging of the throne by Aegon, the Conqueror. Aegon was the Targaryen who had forged the throne from the remains of the swords of his enemies.

As such, the swords used to create the throne in the new HBO show come from the various medieval show look-alikes that took after the brilliance of Game of Thrones but just were not up to the point.

Yet there are quite a few shows that have managed to create a space for themselves in the brutal niche that Game of Thrones commands. The series premiere of House of the Dragon will be followed by the second season of the Amazon Prime series Wheel of Time. Just following it will be the release of the Lord of the Rings series, titled The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

The production of House of the Dragon is confident about the series' capabilities and the mark that it will make in the coming award season.

The House of the Dragon comes with the hopes for David Benioff and D.B. Weiss to redeem their selves after the very unsatisfactory ending of the Game of Throne series. While many fans are not pleased with the same creative duo coming back to the series sets, they will be heading over the creation of the new HBO series.

Paddy Considine agreed with the public sentiment of not liking the season finale. He shared that when an audience goes on an adventure with a show for such a long time, those characters and storylines become a part of their life. It is obvious that the fans had started constructing their own ending for the show and the Peaky Blinder actor agreed that he also did much of the same.

Yet, the House of Dragon goes beyond such criticism. The co-showrunner Ryan Condal explained that the new show won't follow in those footsteps and has its own story to tell.

House of the Dragon is the core of Westeros history and the new show aims on carrying onwards the legacy of the House Targaryen. The creators have envisioned the best storyline possible to honor the GoT.

The series has made incredible progress with its sets and it's difficult to imagine that men create such an astonishing setup as the Dragonstone set for the series. Dragonstone was the first seat of power for the Targaryens as they came to the west coast and was situated on a volcanic plain.

House of Dragon also brings forward a powerful female narrative, which many fans thought to be lacking in Game of Thrones. The prequel series is essentially much more focused on its women characters, as Princess Rhaneyra Targaryen shapes the story of the Dragon house with her best friend Alicent Hightower. Alicent is the daughter of the King's Hand.

Their story tears and builds on the fabric of the House Targaryen, leading all the way to the events of the civil war and the Dance of the Dragons. It would be refreshing to see the two women shape history as seen in GoT.
