Kit Harington is ready to reprise his role as Jon Snow.

According to various reports, "Game of Thrones," HBO's successful and popular show, has begun early development on its first sequel, with the network planning a live-action spin-off series focusing on Jon Snow, who is played by Kit Harington on the show.

The actor is linked to the show, according to insiders, and is working on resuming the part as soon as possible. Kit Harington was nominated for an Emmy twice for his portrayal of Jon Snow, who is regarded as an action hero fighting to defend his family's noble principles in a ruthless world. In 2016, he was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor, and in 2017, he was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor.

After the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, Jon Snow learned that his name was Aegon Targaryen, a potential Iron Throne heir, but he was banished from Westeros because of his actions after he killed Daenarys Targaryen and was sent to the North of the Wall with the Wildings. The sequel will probably deal with the situation and happenings post Game of Thrones' finale in terms of Jon Snow.

Following Game of Thrones, Kit Harington played Dane Whitman a.k.a Black Knight, in Marvel's "Eternals" and even though the movie did not perform as well as it expected to be, it has surely opened door for Kit Harington to appear as Black Knight in the Marvel Universe. Later  Kit Harington appeared in an episode of season two of Modern Love. While promoting Modern Love in December, Kit Harington told Entertainment Tonight that he's come to grips with the reality that he'll be referred to as Jon Snow, and that it now makes him pleased that his character is one of the most famous.

Kit shared that initially, he struggled with being referred to as Jon Snow, but now in the process, since the show ended, he has been proud of the work he and everyone involved in the show did, and now he is in the process of being proud of the character he created and owning it. Kit added that now he feels happy when someone mentions the show or his character, Jon Snow, in an interview. But the actor has also mentioned that playing Jon Snow lead so some mental health issues for which he had to seek professional help.

Kit Harington recently starred as Henry V in a live presentation of the play at the National Theater. Kit Harington was known for surviving some of the toughest filmings for Game of Thrones, including the epic 11-week winter night shoots in Northern Ireland during the last season.

Other surviving characters from the Game of Thrones world, including Arya Stark played by Maisie Williams, Sansa Stark played by Sophie Turner, and Brienne of Tarth played by Gwendoline Christie might potentially emerge as a result of the initiative. This development news brings the total number of Thrones projects in production to seven, including the upcoming House of the Dragon prequel series, which will air on August 21. The Dragon takes place around 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of a civil war within House Targaryen.

Other spinoff shows of Game of Thrones that are under production includes, 'Tales of Dunk and Egg', '10,000 Ships',  '9 Voyages', 'Flea Bottom,' and an animated series. George R.R. Martin, the author of the franchise, was active in advising on the first series and created multiple teleplays, although he has openly stated his dissatisfaction with how it ended. Given his involvement with "House of the Dragon," the first prequel series, it's difficult to believe he won't be engaged with this one as well.

Kit Harington is slated to feature in the forthcoming action movie Blood for Dust, directed by Rod Blackhurst, according to Variety. Scoot McNairy and Josh Lucas, both of Fargo, will also be joining him. Kit Harington and HBO is yet to comment on the news.
