Willow Smith talks about the Will Smith-Chris Rock altercation.

Will Smith’s daughter, Willow Smith, has come out in support of her father after the infamous altercation between the actor and the comedian at the Academy Awards 2022 in March.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Willow Smith expressed her belief that her entire family is comprised of human beings and that she loves and embraces them in all of their humanity. The performer continued by saying that because of their position, their humanity is occasionally rejected and they are expected to behave in a way that isn't conducive to a good human existence or being honest. According to Willow, the resulting media uproar didn't hinder her creativity or rock her as much as her problems.

Will Smith recently took to social media to share a video after three months, in which he apologized to Chris Rock once more and stated that he is remorseful of his actions that happened at the Academy Awards 2022. Will also stated that he has reached out to Chris Rock but that the comedian is not ready to talk to him and will reach out when he is ready. It was also reported that the kids had to face heat and backlash from the audience as well as their friends after the incident, and now they just hope that people are going to understand and let them heal and move on from the incident.

Willow Smith said in an interview with Billboard that she had discovered the value of saying "no" when necessary and had managed to guide her career in a direction that always felt authentic to her despite changes. According to co-president of Roc Nation Shari Bryant, there isn't just one reason why artists like Camila Cabello, Machine Gun Kelly, Yungblud, Travis Barker, and others get in touch with Willow Smith to work together. Shari said that it may be due to her 30-million-strong fanbase or just her unique point of view. She also said that the aura of Willow Smith is exceptional and some artists do seek that out.

As Willow Smith prepares for the release of her album Coping Mechanism, which she co-produced with Chris Greatti along with performing with Machine Gun Kelly on his ongoing Mainstream Sellout Tour, Willow Smith, who is already a varied young musician, considers Coping Mechanism as some of the greatest music she has ever done. Willow Smith said she preferred rock to pop punk and that the music she was planning to make was not inspired by the current trends. Willow added that she wants to focus on the essence of rock music, which is to her a potent cry, perhaps about joy or pain.

Shari Bryant continued that they at Roc Nation wanted to make sure that they were supporting and not manufacturing an artist, and from a label standpoint, it's up to them whether they want to support the artists or not if an artist is telling us that this is the stake that he or she is in today and this is where their passion lies. Shari said Willow Smith has consistently demonstrated nothing but total genuineness, that she is a self-starter, and that she has been involved in every initiative.

Because everyone was rooting for her, trying to help her, and expecting her to do it, Willow Smith recalled that it took a lot of courage for her to decline the big-budget remake of Annie. However, she was clear that she would only dig herself a deeper and deeper hole if she did not speak up for herself as early as she did. The label did not stress the young musicians on their desire for a break, and they are interested in the artists' long-term careers, according to Omar Grant, co-president of Roc Nation.

Omar, who worked with Willow Smith on her debut single, ‘Whip My Hair, said that by giving Willow her space and knowing how young she was and how long of a runway she had, she understood that it was okay if she needs to take a break and find herself.
