Model Bella Hadid is opening up about her health struggles, plastic surgery, and much more!

Bella Hadid appeared on the cover story for Vogue where she talks candidly about her plastic surgery, health struggles, and much more, and she starts by sharing that a lot of people who meet her end up saying that they did not expect her to be nice and warm but more like mean and scary. Bella responded that she would feel less alone within herself if people had a better understanding of who she is.

Bella Hadid recently started speaking up about her health struggles and during the interview mentioned that she had a habit of people-pleasing, which held her back from asking for help or even talking about her struggles with someone. Even now, she says that no matter how she is feeling, her default setting at work is good cheer, professionalism, and gameness.

The model swiftly dived into the topic where she mentioned that she is aware that a lot of people think that her face and body are the results of plastic surgery. Bella recalled that people told her that she was not as cool as Gigi Hadid and not as outgoing as well, and she started believing them. She added that she asks herself how can someone like her who deals with mental health issues, insecurities, body image issues, hates being touched and has intense social anxiety end up in the modeling world.

Bella answered that she realized that over the years, she had learned to be a good actress and put on a smile and a strong face no matter how she felt because she felt like she had something to prove to someone. The model added that people can say whatever they want about her, but no one can say that she does not work hard because in the last seven years of her working she has never missed a job, canceled a job, or arrived late at a job.

Bella Hadid was diagnosed with Lyme disease after she started having a mix of physical and psychiatric symptoms, including brain fog, anxiety, exhaustion, poor focus, headaches, bone pain, and crying spells. She has also been diagnosed with babesiosis, which is a tick-borne parasitic infection of red blood cells that sometimes co-occurs with Lyme disease. At the age of 20, the model was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and started on hormone replacement.

The model opened up about how she was prescribed extended-release Adderall for her inattention by a psychiatrist when she was in high school. The psychiatrist thought that it was ADHD and that the medication pushed her into anorexia. Bella’s explained that her relationship with food has gone better now, but added that the dysmorphic feeling still lies and she can barely look at herself in the mirror.

Bella Hadid agreed to having just one change made to her face that is a nose job done when she was merely 14 years old. She shared that she wishes she hadn’t gone through it and kept the nose of her ancestors, so she would have grown into it. She has been accused of getting plastic surgery done all over and about the same. She said that people think that she did it because there is a picture of her teenage years in which she looks puffy. None of those accusations or rumors about her getting plastic surgery on her face are true.

The model said that no one looks the same as they were when they were 13, and she has never used a filler. She uses face tape to lift her eyes, the oldest trick in the book. Bella went ahead to admit that she had this impostor syndrome where people around her made her feel like she did not deserve the success she had worked hard for.

In January 2021, Bella Hadid had a burnout where her mood changed and she did not feel like herself anymore. After dying her hair twice and waking up in nearly suicidal despair, she finally understood that she needed help, and she spent two and a half weeks at a treatment program. Therapy, medication, and holistic regimen have helped Bella Hadid to be better, and she explained that therapy is one of the biggest gifts she has given to herself.

Gigi Hadid shared that it was really hard to see her go through things and she wished that she could have helped her but she leads with her heart and that why Bella is magic. Bella Hadid added that she is very spiritual and finds that she can connect with every religion, and it is one of the things that has helped her to stay stable. The model is into channeling angels and chakra balancing.

In the end, the model added that when you’re forced to be perfect every day, every time, you start to look at yourself and need to see perfection all the time, which is not possible. This comes after she took a step back from a job for the first time in seven years because of health issues, and people had a lot to say. Bella added that she has FOMO at work but that the month off work was very helpful for her. And now the model is going to focus more on her mental health and make a conscious effort to make sure that fashion does not break her.
