Since the Friends reunion last year, fans of the show have been eager to see the cast of Friends return to the screen and star in a reboot of the show, but Lisa Kudrow has some thoughts and ideas to share.

The most successful and popular sitcom of the 90s, Friends, starred Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer. The sitcom ran from 1994 to 2004 with 236 episodes and ten seasons and is still considered one of the most popular sitcoms of all time.

Lisa Kudrow played Phoebe Buffay on the show and is considered one of the most loved characters of all time because of her quirky and snarky personality and let’s not forget the "Smelly Cat" song. People loved her edgy character on the show.

Lisa Kudrow, who stars in Disney + originals' new movie, "Better Nate Than Never", was asked about the chances of a Friends’ reboot, to which she clarified that there are no hopes of having a reboot anytime soon, but she would love to see a reboot of the show with new actors and especially a new and "now" version of herself. She also added that the creators of the show, Marta Kauffman and David Crane, are not working on anything.

Back in 2017, Lisa Kudrow appeared on The Today Show and mentioned that the reunions would only happen off-screen. But to fans' luck and love, the reunion did happen last May, almost 17 years after the show ended and was premiered on HBO Max. The cast revisited the set and shared some of the stories from behind the scenes while they were filming the show at the time, along with giving updates about their current lives.

During the reunion episode, Matt LeBlanc, who played Joey Tribbani, said that they find it funny when they are in the same room as it is almost like no time has passed and they pick it up from where they left off. The cast also did some table readings from the show for the audience.

During the reunion, there was a question of a reboot, to which Lisa Kudrow said that the creators might not return either because they had ended the show exactly the way they wanted and people had been pleased with the ending. She added that for the reboot, the creators or writers of the show might have to unravel all the good and perfect endings of the characters to get the story, and she does not want anyone’s happy ending to be unraveled.

David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller on the show, said back in 2018 when he appeared on Megyn Kelly Today that he would not like to see their characters on crutches and walkers, so probably the sequel or reboot is out of the picture for now. Recently, Courtney Cox, who played Monica Geller on the show, in conversation with Willie Geist, shared that she had a lot of gaps in her memories as she appeared for the reunion episode that she couldn’t remember being at the time that was mentioned. That’s because she did not binge-watch all ten seasons.

While some classic and successful shows, including Sex and the City and How I Met Your Mother, decided to go ahead with their reboots, the creators and the cast of Friends have been hesitant to do that. The cast also feels that the show ended on a perfect note and they kind off want it to stay that way.

While Lisa Kudrow does not want a reboot of Friends with the original cast but she is surely down for a sequel for 'Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion’ in which she starred along with Mira Sorvino. Lisa Kudrow while appearing for an interview with ET shared that people should let Disney know that you want a sequel and Robin Schiff will figure things out. She said it will be very fun and interesting to see where they are in their lives right now.
