Nothing like becoming a brand new you when going through a breakup!

Supermodel Gigi Hadid recently took a leisurely stroll in New York City, marking it as the first time she went out in the public after the release of the news that she and her boyfriend Zayn Malik had broken up. The on and off again couple had been dating since 2015.

The Pillow Talk actress was seen along with her model sister Bella Hadid at the Big Apple store this past Monday on November 22nd. The model was spotted wearing a posh Versace jumpsuit in vibrant red, which she paired up with a black turtleneck. Page Six shared the pictures of the supermodel strolling down the store on November 24th.

The Next Top Model alum, aged 26 years old, also accessorized her look with a black mask, a black beanie to match on her new gold locks. She completed the look with a pair of edgy boots. The model was photographed getting into her SUV and was seen flaunting a long hair look. Gigi had been rocking brunette hair for some time and recently had shared a picture where she debuted auburn hair accentuated with a dramatic fringed look framing her face.

Her model sister, Bella Hadid, was seen tagging along with her in a chic black blazer paired with a pair of matching trousers. From underneath the blazer peeked a pink tee that she paired with a cozy brown hat for the evening autumn chill. She also got into the SUV following her elder sister after their evening out.

The model, aged 26, is the mother to Khai, her daughter at the age of 14 months, whom she shares with singer Zayn Malik, aged 28. The two split up later the past month, and Gigi has been staying low for the time being since then. She has also distanced herself from her social media profile, only posting twice this month, that too, only to promote her ads for brands. The Hadid family, in general, has been staying silent after the family matriarch accused Zayn Malik of some severe allegations.

Reportedly, Yolanda Hadid, mother of Gigi and Bella Hadid, had accused the One Direction singer of hitting her during a family row late in September. The report was seen all over the internet as the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star's reps shared that the singer had 'struck' the lady when she was visiting him and her granddaughter Khai in his home in Pennsylvania.

However, Zayn Malik refused to have done anything of that sort, and also posted a story on Instagram and Twitter saying that he would appreciate it if his private matters were sorted in the safety of his privacy. His Twitter story suggested that Malik blamed Hadid for releasing the story on social media as she 'leaked' the news to the press. He also shared that he had been trying to "create a safe and private space" for Khai, his daughter, and owe her respect.

The singer wrote on his social media account, “In an effort to protect that space for her, I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.” He further insisted on keeping matters private, citing the need for privacy for his and Gigi's daughter.

He interestingly used the words 'co-parent' even before the news of his and the model's split had made circles. He wrote, “This was and still should be a private matter, but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves.”

Apart from his social media post denying any of the allegations, the British singer also shared a statement with TMZ, where he stated that he "adamantly" denies ever hitting Yolanda. He also accused her of spreading false rumors as she asked his former girlfriend's mother to “reconsider her false allegations.

Gigi has not opened her silence on the matter and yet has to publicly talk about the allegations of the incident. However, a rep of Gigi Hadid has shared that the model asks for "privacy" and is currently "solely focused on the best for Khai" in a statement released in October.

Similarly, the family members of Gigi Hadid had refrained from divulging further into the issue and did not readily respond to queries about the relationship status of the model and the singer. However, a source of Us Weekly later confirmed that the former couple has decided to "silently separated" after having started a more serious relationship in January 2000.

The couple had previously welcomed home their daughter Khai in September 2020, and now, a month later in October, Us Weekly has confirmed that Zayn Malik is “very much involved in Khai’s life.” Apparently, the two adults had been dealing with some issues even before the allegations by Yolanda had surfaced, and a source revealed that they are "having problems for a while." Now that they are officially separated, Gigi and Zayn still "care deeply about each other."

The October allegations by Yolanda have charged Malik with four criminal charges implicating harassment on Yolanda Hadid. However, Zayn Malik claimed no contest to the allegations as revealed by the court documents revealed by Us Weekly. Apart from the court case, Zayn Malik has also been fined along with an obligation to attend anger management classes including a domestic violence program.

Additionally, he has also been subjected to a 90 day probation period for all his four charges each. Furthermore, Zayn has been warned to maintain a distance from Yolanda Hadid and the security guard that had accompanied her during the domestic violence incident. The security guard had also complained that Zayn Malik had harassed Yolanda along with lashing out at the guard.

The probation period for the singer can be ended on the terms if a judge deems Malik to have met all the conditions set during the punishment period in the six months interim. Sources have also stated that Gigi Hadid had been trying to make up for a custodial battle for her daughter Khai and has “met with new lawyers to start helping with custody issues,” after she broke up with the singer.
