Dealing with a failed relationship and heartbreak is a pain like no other, especially if you have had hopes of taking your relationship further and eventually marrying one day.

Katie Thurston had been going through a perfectly good life before she eventually understood that her engagement with fiance Blake Moynes was going nowhere. The two spent time away from each other, and as more time passed, the split widened, leading to this fan-favorite couple calling it quits to their seemingly perfect relationship.

The couple had started great on the dating show The Bachelorette, where Katie starred as a young lady vowing for life-long love. At the end of the show, it was Blake Moynes who caught her eye, and the two were going strong despite not being in a rush to marry and tie the knot.

At the time, Katie Thurston had said, "You go through so much, and you want to take this very seriously — and a proposal and engagement are very serious. I didn't come here to find a boyfriend. I can do that on a dating app." She showed admirable confidence in her relationship as she told, "It's hard to say if we would have survived just as a dating couple, but the fact that we're both committed to each other as future husband and wife, it just says a lot about our confidence in our relationship."

But after a while of on-set dating and engagement, the couple has now finally ended their whirlwind of TV romance and called it quits. The situation is particularly heart-breaking for Katie,\ and has to force herself out of the house amidst the ordeal.

The Bachelorette alum, aged 30, shared a story on her Insta account featuring her dog, Dexter. The post from Wednesday, October 27, showed the pooch on a beach trail as the reality TV star showed her heart on her sleeve and had captioned the story: "Dexter forcing me out the house this morning," featuring a heart emoji.

Further letting her fans know that she is taking care of herself and healing, she thanked her followers for their unwavering support and posted a video story, this time of her cat. She wrote: "Thank you to everyone who has shown their love and support."

She also opened about her healing process and let her fans know that she will be fine. She said, "You can either spend every day convincing yourself things are fine. Or you can accept what is and learn and grow from it. And remember. You don't owe anyone anything. Life is too short. Surround your personal universe with joy."

The formerly engaged couple made their split public just a few days earlier on Monday, October 25. The two posted the same caption on their Instagram post that read: "It is with mutual love and respect that we have decided to go our separate ways. We are so grateful for the moments we shared together and the entire journey that has unfolded this year, but we ultimately have concluded that we are not compatible as life partners, and it is the most caring choice for both of us to move forward, independently."

The heart-breaking post further read: "We ask for kindness and privacy as we both navigate this transition. Both of us will forever want the best for one another and ask you to please support us in our decision."

The two's engagement had come as a piece of beautiful news for many The Bachelorette: Season 17 fans. Blake had already featured in the Season 16 of the show, but not having received the final rose, once again made his way to the reality show to find love on the 17th Season. The couple hails from different countries and decided to carry their relationship the long distance instead of moving in together.

The couple was still exploring the relationship, as the Canadian native star said, "We need to see each other’' lifestyles and our passions, our interests, and then try to see where our anchor spot will be, where all those things can kind of align and make sense for both of us. We're going to jump around for a bit and experience what works best for us."

Even a few days before the split, Katie was yet hopeful for a silver lining and had shared. "The short version is we're figuring it out. We don't know. This is very new to us still. I'm just focusing on myself. He's focusing on him, and if we work doing that, great."

While the couple tried to make the distance between them work, a source had already told Us Weekly that the constant distance between the two has been affecting their dynamics. Katie lives in San Diego, and Moynes has been traveling for work around Africa when he is not living in Canada.

"They just couldn't make the long-distance work. Katie really missed Blake once he left, and they would get into little arguments, but at the end of the day, Katie wished he would be with her more."

Katie's close ones are sure that she "won't have trouble moving on," and "won’t give up on love and still hopes to get married one day."
