The Queen of Nashville never disappoints!

The 57th Academy Country Music Awards were held in Las Vegas on Monday, i.e., March 7, 2022, at the Allegiant Stadium. The ceremony was streamed live on Amazon Prime Video with country music legend Dolly Parton, along with Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett, hosting the ceremony.

Singer Kelly Clarkson, during her performance at the ceremony, paid tribute to Dolly Parton by singing "I Will Always Love You". After Kelly Clarkson’s performance, Dolly Parton went ahead to praise the singer and said that she knows Whitney Houston must be smiling down tonight and she has been trying hard not to cry as her fake eyelashes might come off. The audience gave Dolly Parton a standing ovation as she appeared on stage after Kelly's performance.

Dolly Parton is one of the legendary country singer who is Miley Cyrus' godmother too and people adore her for her wit and sense of humor along with her music Ofcourse. Dolly Parton previously hosted the Academy Country Music Awards in 2000 and, ahead of the 2022 ceremony, she spoke to Variety and mentioned that she was looking forward to Kelly Clarkson’s performance on-stage and her spin on her iconic song. "I Will Love You" is one of the iconic songs sung by Dolly Parton, which Whitney Houston covered for her movie "The Bodyguard" in 1992. 

Kelly Clarkson took over the stage to perform before the winner of the category of "Entertainer of the Year" was announced, which was given to first-time winner but six time nominee in the category, Miranda Lambert, who unfortunately was not present at the ceremony but did accept the award virtually stating that she has missed the ceremony first time in 17 years. Dolly Parton also perfomed Big Dreams and Faded Jeans alongside Kelsea Ballerina

Hosting the ceremony, Dolly Parton opened the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards by speaking about the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. She said that she did not want the night to get political, but she would like to send her love and hope to everyone in Ukraine. The country singer added that the whole show is dedicated to the people of Ukraine and prays for peace around the world.

Dolly Parton previous month spoke about her nomination for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by stating that she never considered herself to be rock and roll in any way, but added that the nominations were judged based on music and its influence on the people. Dolly Parton also said that she is not expecting to get in, but if she does, she’s going to put out a great rock and roll album next year.

After the legendary country singer decided to dedicate the show to the people of Ukraine, the audience on social media took no time in praising her by calling her a class act and thanking her for thinking about the people of Ukraine. Dolly Parton stunned the stage in a shimmering mosaic bodysuit and mentioned in her opening monologue that she wanted to shine today and joked that as she was walking through the hall back here, a disco ball just fell right on her, and shards of glass were all over her.

Talking about hosting the ceremony, Dolly Parton shared that although it’s nerve-wracking to be a part of something new and exciting, being back in Las Vegas seemed like a perfect time and added that she loves the Academy Country Music Awards.
