Kennedy McMann’s emotional goodbye to Nancy Drew

CW’s mystery series titled Nancy Drew is coming to an end after its upcoming fourth season, and the series' protagonist, Kennedy McMann, who plays Nancy Drew, has an emotional goodbye post to share.

The actress posted two photos on social media, one from her season premiere and the other from the series finale. It's a series wrap on Nancy Drew, she chose to write in the caption, adding that the first picture is from last night and the second is taken on the day they wrapped the pilot, never realizing if they'd get this opportunity but they did. Kennedy McMann stated that she began her journey at the age of 22 and is now 26 years old, noting that she has grown as a person, married, bought a home, discovered herself, and ended up living an absolute childhood fantasy.

Kennedy McMann continued that the encounter has completely transformed her life, adding what an absolute blessing it has been and went on to thank everybody, including the unbelievable crew who have become her family, molded and motivated her, and given her so much for everything they've created. They, she said, which was what made this special—the ones who always did show up. The actress went on to thank her character Nancy, whom she says imparted her to be courageous in the face of adverse situations, who decided to show her how to speak out and stand out, who is sensitive, dedicated, very kind and, and whom she will always respect and appreciate. Kennedy McMann noted that it had been an honor to walk in her shoes.

Kennedy McMann previously talked about the prior season. She said that much of the season is about growing up and each of The Drew Crew's journeys in that regard. From a professional point of view, Kennedy went on to explain that they are all finally starting their formal adult lives in various ways adding that if they lived for many years in their parents' homes, they have moved out. Nancy has formed her investigation firm. George is a law student, Bess is the new Historical Society keeper, Ace has only recently started working at the coroner's office, and Nick is trying to figure to see where he stands in everything now that Nick and George are no longer together. There are all of these branch offices have occurred. The actress added that then there's the main mystery of the season, which starts in the first episode and unites them all, and they'll all be working together to solve it throughout the season.

Showrunners Noga Landau and Melinda Hsu said in a statement that they are so proud and happy and proud to have presented Nancy Drew's legendary commitment, uniqueness, and adaptability to life in a years-long collaborative effort with unbelievable creative talents in front of the camera, behind the scenes, as well as among their studio and network partners. The showrunners were disappointed that the show had been axed, but they were grateful for the chance to tell the story for as long as they possibly could.

The statement went on to say that they are thankful for the opportunity to close this chapter with intention, social equality, and compassion with plenty of investigative journalism cliffhangers, otherworldly scares, and star-crossed romance. The showrunners went on to say that they are extremely thankful to their marvelous fans around the world, whose correlation to their narratives and stories indicates all of that to them. Season four will be a fitting and impactful reward for their unquestioning love and support.
