The 25-year-old Tom Holland, all set to lead the upcoming superhero film Spiderman: No Way Home in the role of Spiderman also known as Peter Parker, has revealed his initial reaction when he was first pitched the much-anticipated film by the idea of Marvel Studio and he thought it was something crazy.

He said that he was quite impressed when the studio first approached him with the crazy idea of the film. "When I was first pitched the idea, I was like, ‘Wow, that would be awesome if we could pull it off. ‘But there’s just no way it’s going to work. You’re just not going to be able to get everyone to do what they need to do. It’s just not going to happen.’ But it did happen. And it’s crazy," Holland said while speaking with Empire.

While the film director Jon Watts performed a brilliant job in directing the first two films in the popular film series, the fans will have to wait for just two months to see what is it that this time he could offer more to the table regarding the film, but according to the film star Benedict Cumberbatch "it's gonna be a great film."

Cumberbatch said in a recent appearance on a Variety podcast. "It's gonna be a great film, I think, I think Jon Watts is a genius, all that team was on those three films are vastly brilliant."

"Jon [Watts] is great, he's got such a light touch, he's so assured though. He's great to hang out with on set," the actor added. "He's very witty, but incredibly generous and supportive. Everything you want in a director. He's young, he's energetic, he gets the kids - I call myself an 'older person' to the older people. It's an atmosphere on that set. It's a bonded group, they've done three now, beautiful work environment. I really really enjoyed being on that set, I really did."

During the same interview, Cumberbatch further said that Spider-Man: No Way Home is going to be the most ambitious "standalone superhero" film until his very own Doctor Strange sequel releases in theaters next March.

"Yeah, [Spider-Man: No Way Home] will be a lot, a lot of fun. There will be a lot of debate about it, I'm sure, but it's a daring, brilliant concept," Cumberbatch shared with the Variety Awards Circut Podcast.

He added, "It has got great ambition [...] I haven't seen it, but by all accounts I think it's achieved it. And I mean, even on paper, the audacity of it, like, 'How the hell is that gonna work?' Also, so excited about the overall opportunity of them exploring those ideas. So yeah, I'll be really interested to see how it comes out. But I'm pretty certain it'll be a hit."

The 40-year-old Jon Watts is responsible for directing the Spider-Man: No Way Home along with Chris Mckenna and Erik Sommers as the story writer.

With Tom Holland in the leading role of Peter Parker aka Spiderman in Spiderman: No Way Home, it features a sprawling cast of Zendaya in the role of MJ, Benedict Cumberbatch in the role of Doctor Strange, Jon Favreau in the role of Harold "Happy" Hogan, Jacob Batalon in the role of Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei in the role of May Parker, J. B. Smoove in the role of Julius Dell, Alfred Molina in the role of Otto Octavius also known as Doctor Octopus, and Jamie Foxx in the role of Max Dillon also known as Electro. The film is the 27th part in the superhero-based franchise Marvel Cinematic Universe and is a follow-up to the second installment in the film series Spiderman: Far From Home released back in 2019.

Produced under the banner of Sony Pictures in association with Marvel Studios, Spiderman: No Way Home is arriving in theatres on December 17, 2021.
