Rosie O’Donnell apologizes to Priyanka Chopra Jonas!

On Monday, Rosie O’Donnell was having lunch at Nobu in Malibu with her son and his girlfriend when she spotted Priyanka Chopra Jonas who was having lunch with her husband Nick Jonas at the table next to her. Rosie went ahead and complimented the singer and said, "Hi, Nick Jonas, you were great in Kingdom,” she recalled in her TikTok video.

The former View panelist further shared that then she went ahead to address the actress and said, ‘Hi, I know your dad.’ She goes, ‘You do? Who’s my dad?’ And I go, ‘Deepak’. To which Priyanka Chopra Jonas said to Rosie, “No, and Chopra is a common name.” Rosie confessed that she was literally ‘embarrassed’ by the faux pass and she apologized to the couple that recently became parents to a baby girl and was spotted for the first time after the announcement of their baby.

Rosie O’Donnell posted another video on her TikTok clarifying that Priyanka Chopra Jonas was not rude to her when the goof-up happened but the entire situation was just ‘awkward’. Rosie added, “But apparently she is a very famous actress and more famous than him (Deepak), people were saying. So I'm sure it felt weird to her, to begin with. I’m sure she gets sick of that. I’m sure I’m not the only one [who was confused]. I just want to apologize to her and to everyone who thought it was really inappropriate of me. Sorry. Sometimes I f–k up. I did at Nobu.” Some of the fans commented on Rosie’s post stating that they have had the same confusion as well but it’s good to clarify that she is not Deepak Chopra’s daughter.

Deepak Chopra is a popular writer of Indian origin based in the United States for years and is quite popular among celebrities as a self-help guru. Deepak has two children Mallika Chopra, and Gotham Chopra. But, Priyanka Chopra is the daughter of Dr. Ashok Chopra and Dr. Madhu Chopra and Priyanka’s father passed away in 2013 after a long battle with cancer. The former beauty queen was very close to her father and in her memoir ‘Unfinished’; she explained that his passing away slipped her into depression after three years. She writes, “I was fortunate to be able to continue working, which was my salvation. Still, the time felt like a never-ending slump, a long sigh of sadness, a sort of pause in my life that lasted almost two years. When I wasn’t feeling numb, I felt lonely, sad, and isolated. No one understood what was going on inside of me because I didn’t tell anyone. I’m not saying there weren’t a few bright spots, times when I delighted in the world around me. Mercifully, there were, and meeting Nick [in 2017] — however briefly — was one of them.”

Recently news that stirred up the Internet once again was Priyanka Chopra Jonas who claimed five years ago that she was working on a comedy-based sitcom based on the life of Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene and was going to produce the show for ABC in the United States. But recently Madhuri Dixit has confirmed that the project is no longer in progress. She said, “There was a discussion going on and we were trying to pitch it and Shri Rao who got me the script of The Fame Game and also directed the show was involved with that project too. But sometimes things work and there are times it doesn’t. We tried to get that sitcom approved but it didn’t pan out. It wasn’t exactly my autobiography. It was part fiction and part reality. They were going to take certain instances of my life including the fact that I was a Bollywood actor before moving to Denver where no one really knew me. So what happens in such a situation? But it’s done and we aren’t working on it anymore.”

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra Jonas who was last seen in Matrix Resurrections is gearing up for Amazon Prime Video thriller ‘Citadel’ opposite Richard Madden and Barry Levinson’s ‘Sheela’ in which she will be portraying spiritual guru Ma Anand Sheela. The global icon is also busy taking care of the little one that she and Nick Jonas recently welcomed. The couple is yet to acknowledge the apology.
