Britney Spears’ lawyer had a few things to say to her father, Jamie Spears.

The legal battle between Britney Spears and her father, Jamie Spears, has not yet ended, even though her 13-year-long conservatorship was terminated in November 2021. Now her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, has called out Jamie Spears for running away from a deposition.

Mathew Rosengart wrote in a motion that he filed in the Los Angeles court that James P. Spears has been avoiding his deposition and acknowledging his alleged misbehavior under oath. Mathew went on to say that the deposition is necessary by law and that Jamie Spears has been stonewalling and obstructing for over six months, avoiding his deposition and consistently failing to reply to simple requests.

Jamie Spears' attorneys have been trying to persuade Britney Spears to give a deposition, and Mathew Rosengart noted in his filing that despite Britney Spears' trauma, Jamie Spears is seeking to take her deposition even as he avoids doing his obligation, which is to answer the important issues. Jamie Spears was given eight dates to pick from for his deposition, according to Britney Spears' lawyer, but he has not chosen any of them.

Mathew also stated in his statement that he was unable to pick a date, and Jamie Spears did not even attempt to submit any dates or a cause for his inability to present, and Mathew suggested in his file that an order be made against Jamie Spears requiring him to appear for the deposition. Jamie Spears has continued to harass and intimidate Britney Spears, according to her lawyer, by failing to cooperate with his discovery and fiduciary responsibilities and serving intrusive and abusive discovery on his daughter, among other things.

Mathew Rosengart urged Jamie Spears to cooperate with them and tell the truth and added that the lawyers were willing to travel to his home state of Louisiana for the deposition. The lawyer also detailed a couple more things in his filing, like allegations against Jamie Spears about how he failed to produce communications concerning the shocking electronic surveillance apparatus set up to spy on Britney Spears. Back in January, Mathew Rosengart filed in a court a declaration from a former FBI special agent who worked as a private investigator for the singer, who mentioned that while Britney Spears was under conservatorship, Jamie Spears had had a recording device placed in her room to hear the private conversations.

The allegation was first made by one of the employees in the 2021 New York Times documentary ‘Controlling Britney Spears’. Mathew Rosengart explained that this deposition is essential as it will include questions about Jamie Spears’ efforts to control Britney Spears via lithium. The attorney was able to get Britney Spears free from a 13-year-long conservatorship mentioned in his filling that Jamie Spears will now have to pay his legal fees and stated that despite stating that he has nothing to hide, he failed to show up for the deposition.

Jamie Spears’ lawyers told The New York Times that every action he has taken was taken with the consent and knowledge of Britney Spears, her court-appointed attorney, and/or the court, adding that his actions were well within the parameters of the authority conferred upon him by the court. After the conservatorship was terminated in November, Jamie Spears’ lawyers mentioned that for 13 years, Jamie has tried to do everything for Britney Spears and in her best interests, whether it was as a conservator or a father.

In September 2021, Britney Spears' father Jamie Spears was removed as custodian of her estate, and her conservatorship was dissolved two months later.
