Kevin Federline is speaking his truth.

A teaser has been released from Kevin Federline’s recent interview with 60 Minutes Australia where he explained why he did not help his ex-wife Britney Spears during her conservatorship along with how their kids feel about their mother now. The interview will air on September 4th.

Kevin Federline said that he was mortified for Britney Spears, and added that he still feels bad but mentioned that he couldn’t allow Britney Spears’ legal drama to center his life because he had the boys, Sean Preston, and Jayden James, to raise and they were always his priority.

Kevin said that taking care of the boys in the middle of such a tumultuous time was her priority, and he couldn’t manage to get involved in the legal battle of Britney Spears against her father. Britney Spears and Kevin Federline were married from 2004 to 2006.

Britney Spears, who was put under a legal contract in 2008 after the singer experienced some highs and lows, which was followed by her separation from Kevin Federline, was later put under a strict conservatorship where she was not able to take any of the decisions for herself without asking her father, Jamie Spears, and a group of attorneys, Kevin Federline was given exclusive custody of the boys.In 2019, a judge ruled that Britney Spears could have her sons’ 30% custody after previously splitting the custody 50-50 with Kevin Federline.

The termination of the 13-year-long conservatorship did bring some peace for the singer, but the problems at home just grew as her kids started to grow distant from her. Recently, when Britney Spears got married to Sam Asghari, the boys chose not to attend the wedding, and Mark Vincent Kaplan, Kevin Federline’s attorney, said that Kevin and the boys are happy for Britney and wish Sam and her all the best.

But in August, Kevin Federline, during an interview, said the boys have decided not to see her now and mentioned that they will surely ask questions about Britney’s conservatorship, but there is not much that he can explain to them. Kevin did not hold himself back from pointing out that the boys dislike Britney’s explicit pictures on social media and stated that he could not imagine how tough it has been for them because they have to go back to school. Kevin Federline also seemed to have agreed with the idea of conservatorship that according to Britney was 'abusive', but according to Kevin it 'saved' her and he added that he just witnessed a father trying his best to take care of his daughter.

The interview did not sit well for Kevin Federline as Britney Spears chose to respond, stating that it saddens her to hear that Kevin has decided to discuss the relationship between her and the kids in public. She clarified that raising two teenage boys is never easy for anyone and it concerns her that the reason is based on her social media, but it was long before social media that she gave them everything. Britney expressed that she is extremely hurt by the sentiments that were shared about her relationship with the kids. Britney Spears later mentioned that whenever the boys would visit her, they'd be 'hateful' towards her.

Britney Spears’ brother Bryan Spears also spoke about the boys, stating that they are good and growing, and mentioned that he is in touch with Kevin Federline, which is mostly because of the family engagement or if the kids are doing something. But what caught the audience's attention was Kevin Federline trying to portray himself as a man who cared about Britney but is also going in public and talking about her relationship with her kids without her knowledge.

A poster questioned why, if he truly felt awful for her, Kevin Federline was taking advantage of Britney Spears' misery for financial gain and that she was not deserving of it. Another person said that if Kevin Federline would simply stop bringing up Britney Spears in public, there wouldn't be any family strife.

The interview will air on September 4th on Nine Networks on Sunday.
