Asia Argento reacts to Anthony Bourdain’s unauthorized book, "Down and Out in Paradise: The Life of Anthony Bourdain" by Charles Leerhsen

The Italian actress Asia Argento, who was involved with the late travel host Anthony Bourdain, recently took to her social media to mock the unauthorized book of the late travel host as the text messages between the two were recently made public and the book is about to release.

Asia Argento shared a photo of herself wearing a t-shirt with the words "Stop Busting My Balls" over the image of professional bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman on social media. According to Charles Leerhsen's book Down and Out in Paradise, she texted the same message to her late partner the night before he committed suicide in 2018 by hanging himself. The author did mention in his book that he tried to reach out to Asia but she simply quoted Oscar Wilde to him in the few email exchanges they had that it's always the judas who writes the biography.

According to the excerpt that was published in The New York Times, the famous chef and the Italian actress had a troubled relationship and had both cheated on each other, but Anthony texted Asia the night before he died after repeatedly seeing a video of the actress dancing with someone else in a hotel they had stayed earlier. Anthony said in his text that he was fine, wasn't being spiteful, and wasn't jealous that she had been with someone else because he didn't own her and she could do whatever she wanted. She was irresponsible with his heart and life, Anthony continued, but he did mean it when he said he would do what he had promised.

Asia Argento with whom Anthony started dating in 2016, was said to be angered by the chef's decision to get back together with Ottavia Busia, his ex-wife with whom he had a daughter named Ariane, who is now 15 years old. After nine years together, the pair reportedly parted ways in September 2016. Asia texted him that she is not able to handle this anymore and accused him of being possessive before ending their relationship. Anthony had reached out again asking her if there was something that he could do to help her to which she replied "Stop busting my balls." Later the travel host and chef replied to her with 'okay' and passed away in the night by suicide in France. The reason for Anthony's suicide or what was going in his head at the time he decide to pursue with the decision is a mystery to everyone.

Asia reportedly requested the author, Charles not to publish what she had told him, according to the New York Times piece, but Anthony Bourdain's brother, Christopher Bourdain, purportedly branded the book a work of defamation. The book includes private information, most of which was gleaned from Anthony Bourdain's laptop and phone texts and emails, and it traces Bourdain's ascent to fame from a Vassar College dropout to a culinary sensation.

According to the book, which PEOPLE exclusively previewed on Wednesday, Anthony Bourdain had arguments with the Italian actress when he was filming his CNN series with Eric Ripert and had to leave the set many times to talk to her on the phone during those final days.

After Asia was photographed by paparazzi with French journalist Hugo Clément, Anthony Bourdain grew enraged. The situation worsened on Wednesday when she reportedly told him she no longer desired to be with him. He was so disturbed that everyone was watching him all day and all night. Throughout the day, there were more shrill phone calls. The extract says that by Thursday, he seemed to be better and kind of wanted everyone to back off.

After receiving criticism following Anthony Bourdain's passing in 2018, the actress spoke to DailyMailTV three months later. Asia said that they claim that she killed him, and she wailed in the course of the questioning. People must believe that he committed suicide because of something like this but went on to reveal that he had also cheated on her. The Italian actress said that neither of them had a problem with that and explained that the late travel host spent 265 days on the road per year but when they saw each other, they enjoyed each other's company greatly. Asia said that people should know that they were not young people, they were adults now.

'Down and Out in Paradise: The Life of Anthony Bourdain' comes out on October 11th.
