Britney Spears took to social media to thank her fans and supporters for always being there for her and always assisting her through her difficult moments. The removal of her father Jamie Spears as her conservator after 13 years is one of those moments. She thanked everyone for their #FreeBritney campaign and expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of love for her from all across the world.

"#FreeBritney movement… I have no words … because of you guys and your constant resilience in freeing me from my conservatorship… my life is now in that direction! I cried last night for two hours cause my fans are the best and I know it. I feel your hearts, and you feel mine… that much I know is true,"  the singer posted.

Jamie Spears was designated as Britney Spears' conservator in 2008 after the singer suffered a mental and emotional breakdown in public as a result of the paparazzi constantly flashing cameras in her face and her ex-husband gaining custody of her children.

On September 29, 2021, Judge Brenda Penny suspended the singer's father, Jamie Spears as Britney's conservator. According to sources, the court issued the order after a nearly 80-minute conversation between Britney's lawyer Mathew Rosengart and Jamie's lawyer Vivian Thoreen. The latter argued for the conservatorship's complete termination, while the former stated that they desire an agreement to dissolve the conservatorship before the end of the year.

Following a hearing with both sides, Judge Brenda Penny suspended Jamie Spears as Britney's conservator and replaced him with John Zabel. The future of the conservatorship will be decided at a hearing on November 12th, 2021. The hearing's primary aim is to determine whether the conservatorship should be terminated.

Jamie Spears has always loved his daughter unconditionally, according to Vivian Thoreen, and despite the suspension, the father will continue to watch out for Britney Spears' best interests and strive in good faith toward a happy outcome.

Other pending concerns, such as significant attorney expenses, including three years of labor by Spears' court-appointed counsel, Samuel Ingham, will be handled in a separate hearing on December 13, 2021.

A few days ago, Netflix aired the documentary ‘Britney versus Spears,' which gives viewers an insight into the singer's life and how she dealt with the paparazzi following her around all the time, as well as conservatorship. The documentary combines interviews, audio, and footage during the period Britney Spears was placed under conservatorship.

People close to the singer have said in the documentary that she has hesitated to come out about the conservatorship since her children have been used as pressure to keep her mum quiet all these time. Britney Spears' conservatorship has received a lot of attention and has recently had an impact on the law.

Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, has signed a bill aimed at reforming the state's conservatorship laws, particularly for persons with estates worth more than $1 million. The rule stresses transparency and requires conservators supervising estates worth more than $1 million to register as professionals and undertake training, according to CSB News. It also offers conservatees more control over their legal representation and contains a $50,000 penalty for conservators who do not work in the best interests of their clients, as determined by the courts.

This move is being taken in light of the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of other cases similar to Britney Spears' in which families have been struggling, and this law may be able to assist them and their loved ones.
