DJ Khaled will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Recent reports have suggested that Palestinian-American DJ, rapper, record executive, and record producer DJ Khaled (real name Khaled Mohammed Khaled) is all set to receive his very own Hollywood Walk of Fame Star on the streets of Hollywood Boulevard.

DJ Khaled shared the announcement on his social media page that he is going to join the list of celebrities who have had their Hollywood Walk of Fame Star. According to Variety, DJ Khaled’s star is to be placed in the 6221 block of Hollywood Boulevard, next to Amoeba Music, and the ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 11th. This location of DJ Khaled’s star is also shared by Red Hot Chili Peppers, rock band whose star was revealed last month.

Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame producer, stated that DJ Khaled is one of the most popular and ever-present producers in the rap industry and the Hollywood Walk of Fame is extremely thrilled to honor him with his star on the Walk of Fame. DJ Khaled’s star is going to be the 2719th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame under the category of Recording. The presenters for the ceremony are yet to be announced.

DJ Khaled has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Beyonce, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Drake, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Post Malone, etc. The music producer was recently nominated at the 64th annual Grammy Awards for Album of the Year  on H.E.R.’s "Back of My Mind" album as a producer. Khaled's song "Higher," which features the late Nipsey Hussle and singer John Legend, won a Grammy Award in 2020 in the category of Best Rap/Sung Performance.

DJ Khaled recently appeared at the 94th annual Academy Awards during the opening of the show alongside Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes.The producer’s success comes along with a lot of dedication and passion for music and he shared that when his parents moved back to New Orleans to stay with the family, Khaled stayed back in Orlando to work on his music and added that sometimes when his friends used to come over to his place, he would not have furniture or even food, but only records until he finally made it big in the industry. In 1998, the producer moved to Miami and worked hard to perform at gigs wherever he could and later co-hosted The Luke Show on WEDR ’99 Jamz’ with Luther Campbell.

In late 2015, DJ Khaled’s Snapchat videos of his lavish lifestyle caught the attention of the public, and he started to gain more recognition online and soon was known to be an Internet phenomenon. He says in his book, "The Keys," that Snapchat changed his life. In addition to the albums he has released through his record label, We the Best Music Group, which he founded in 2008, DJ Khaled has appeared in television and films as well, including Bad Boys for Life, a cameo in promotional material for Spider-Man: Homecoming, and a fictionalized version of himself in Pitch Perfect 3. He also announced that he would join Demi Lovato as the opening act of their Tell Me You Love Me Tour.

In 2021, Khaled collaborated with Dolce & Gabbana on a collection of ready-to-wear and beachwear pieces, and in April 2021, the rapper and music producer released his 12thstudio album titled, "Khaled Khaled." During his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2016, DJ Khaled described himself as a music mogul. Towards the end of the interview, DJ Khaled said to Ellen that he is very much inspired by her and loves everything she does. He also gushed about the show and said that he loves the show, so being on the show with her means a lot to him.

DJ Khaled has mentioned in one of his interviews that for him, the top priority is to be authentic. DJ Khaled’s positive and signature casual language of success is also what people love about him, as he refers to his fans as' keys’ and the people who distract individuals from succeeding as' they’. The rapper and record producer interact with their fans and guide them to keep moving forward with work and always be grateful for what they have.

Khaled's 501(c)3 organization, The We The Best Foundation helps numerous youth-focused non-profits and uplifts individuals in underserved communities around the United States. In addition, he has backed the fight against COVID-19 and was chosen as the first social media ambassador for Project Red by U2's Bono, and he is the national spokesperson for Get Schooled.
