Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker's romance turned into a horror story faster than we could have imagined.
The spooky season is running well and high around this time of fall, and newly engaged celebs just could not pass up an opportunity to look thoroughly punk and eerie. Hence, the punk icon of today, Travis and Kourtney, got decked in full punk regalia of the past to do justice to their newfound love for each other and years of tradition for iconic Halloween costumes.
The newly engaged couple indulged in their love for this time of fall, and they brought in the scares a few days earlier than Hallow's Eve. The couple dressed as the punk icons Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen.
The Poosh founder took to her Instagram to share her gorgeous pictures with her drummer fiance only a few days after first sharing that Travis had popped the question on a rose heart-filled beach. She captioned the post: "Till death do us part." The post featured a set of black and white images as the two stars posed like punk icons.
Travis himself shared a few pictures of the pre-Halloween scare shoot. The Blink-182 drummer featured similar images as Kourt's Insta account. The post was captioned, "Throw away the key", and featured the punk rockstars dazzling in an all-black ensemble.
Kourtney looked stunningly like Nancy in the pictures as she featured a blond wig, a mesh T-shirt, and a black bra to match. Travis, for his part, also looked quite the hunk as he wore a leather jacket embossed with an impressive collection of studs. He also debuted a wig hairdo with a lot of spikes poking in all directions, along with a cigarette to complete off the look.
The two rock stars from the late 70s had dated for a while when Nancy Spungen had died in October 1978 at the age of 20 due to a fatal stab wound. Her boyfriend, Sid Vicious, who played as the bassist for Sex Pistols, was tried and charged for the murder of Nancy Spungen. However, the bassist soon died in February 1979 after overdosing on heroin. Hence, the case went to trial.
A biopic was made on the two in 1986. The film starred Gary Oldman as the punk icon Sid Vicious, whose real name was Simon John Ritchie. Nancy Spungen was played by Chloe Webb, and while the film has quite a lot of fans, John Lydon, who also goes by the stage name Johnny Rotten wasn't impressed and called it the "the lowest form of life." The film was named 'Sid and Nancy.'
And yet, overcoming the dark tragedy of the love life of Sid and Nancy, Travis and Kourtney once again immortalized the two with their own Halloween Twist. Now, despite the real fate of the icons from the 70s, a lot many fans and celebs descended the comments section of Travis and Kourtney's post and praised the two for their ingenious Halloween idea.
Harry Hudson shared his amazement at the idea and said, "How?! This is genius," and was soon joined in by Simon Huck, who wrote "THIS!!!!! 💀💀." Huck has been a close friend of the Kardashian family for a long while.
Though Nancy and Sid couldn't get to live a long love-filled life, The Keeping Up With The Kardashians' Alum and her fiance are surely getting to live the dream. The two only recently shared their happy news with the world, showing that they are now engaged. The couple had become a thing somewhere early in January 2021, and in just less than a year of dating, Travis popped the question, and Kourtney said 'YES!' Travis had proposed to the reality star in a romantic getaway to the Rosewood Miramar Beach Hotel in Santa Barbara, California amidst a gorgeous setting of a heart made of the reddest roses.
Many people and celebs have already dropped by to congratulate the couple, and sources are positively sure about the couple's ecstasy regarding the amazing ascent of their love life. A source had conceded to Us Weekly that "Both Travis and Kourtney are on cloud nine," and "The Kardashians, Jenners, and Travis’ family are so happy for the two of them."
While wedding bells are imminent in the near future, the two are yet tight-lipped regarding when Kourtney would get to walk down the aisle in all white. The couple is surely thinking of new additions to their family as a source relayed, "They will have a baby together without any doubt, it’s just a matter of when and how."
However, the couple will not be first-time parents when they eventually have a child together. Kourtney is the mother of her three children Mason, 11, Penelope, 9, and Reign, 6, whom she shares with Scott Disick, an ex who is not particularly happy with the update in Kourt's life. Travis also shares son Landon, 18, and daughter Alabama, 15, with ex-wife Shanna Moakler. The former couple had finalized their divorce as Travis had shifted his residence to the Oaks estate, where he became a neighbor of the Kardashians.
