J-Lo is spilling her secrets.

Jennifer Lopez appeared on the cover story of Rolling Stone and got candid about her life, her new dynamic at home, and how much her mother Guadalupe Rodriguez’s teachings have always guided her for life especially in the entertainment business.

Jennifer said, "Listen, my mom was also a fun mom. My mom was also the mom who got me into musicals and introduced me to all kinds of music. I am an entertainer because of my mom. But I'm also able to survive the things I've survived in this business because my mom was tough. I don't think she could realize what she was preparing me for, but she did."

In her interview, the singer-actress also shared that even though she is successful now, she still feels like an ‘underdog’ sometimes in the industry because of the way she was brought up with absolutely no knowledge of the entertainment industry. She said, "I always feel like I was scrapping from the bottom. Always. I always felt like I wasn't the one that was supposed to be in the room. That's part of being Puerto Rican and from the Bronx and a woman. You know what I mean? All of that stuff. Not being born into a family with money. Not knowing anybody in the business. I just went out there and said, 'F— it. I'm going to just try. I'm going to try to get in here.'"

Jennifer Lopez even after achieving success and appreciation across the globe still feels that there is a certain amount of disconnect between now and where she sees herself. She explained to the publication, "It's just 20, 25 years of people going, 'Well, she's not that great. She's pretty and she makes cute music, but it's not really this and that.' You know, I think I've done some nice work over the years, some really nice work. But there is a club that I just wasn't a part of. And I always acted like, 'Yeah, I'm good. I'm fine. I'm OK.' But it hurts to not be included. I don't know if I will ever be. There is an inner circle, like, 'We are the great artists.' And then there's the pop artists."

The singer-actress is soon going to feature in a romantic comedy movie titled, ‘Marry Me', which premiers on 11th February 2022 and she is extremely grateful for the recent choices. She shared with People, "I've never been better. It's just that we're all in a very beautiful moment." She also talked about her romance with Ben Affleck which shook the entire world when the pictures of the two of them went viral. Talking about it, Jennifer said, "I feel so lucky and happy and proud to be with him. It's a beautiful love story that we got a second chance."

Jennifer Lopez shared that the duo was a little scared the second time they rekindled their romance especially after the chaos that surrounded them after calling off their engagement in 2004 and going their separate ways. She added, "Before we kind of put [our relationship] out there and we were naïve and it got a little trampled. But this time We both were like, 'Wow, we're so happy and we don't want any of that to come into play again.' We're older now, we're smarter, we have more experience, we're at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things. We're so protective because it is such a beautiful time for all of us." She adds, "I just feel very happy and lucky to be in a relationship that's happy and loving, and I want to do everything I can to protect that and keep it safe. It deserves that, it really does. ... We hold it sacred."

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have been creating buzz all around since the pictures of them together went viral on the internet and she is extremely happy about the healthy relationship she has with him. She talks about how the relationship they have today is different from the one they had decades ago, "It's beautiful the way it feels very different than it was years ago. ... There's more of an appreciation and a celebration for it, which is nice. When you find somebody and you really, really love them and you get a second chance at that? That is a really rare, precious, beautiful thing and we don't take it for granted."

Jennifer went ahead and appreciated Ben for the hard work he put in for getting better and said, "I'm so proud of the him, I'm so proud of the man he's become that I've watched from afar. Being honest with each other, being loving, that's just the basis of everything. I feel like he's at a place in his life where — just like how I feel about myself — it's been a journey of learning yourself and figuring yourself out, getting to a place where you feel really good on your own and who you are so you can be in a happy, healthy relationship. To see the person, the human being, the man that he is today, the father that he is today, the partner that he is — he is so everything I always knew he was and wanted to be."
