Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund have reportedly split after three years!

After a few months of a rocky relationship, actress Emma Roberts and singer, American actor and model Garrett Hedlund have decided to go their separate ways and will try to co-parent in the best way possible. The couple recently celebrated their son Rhodes Roberts’ first birthday last month with a rodeo-themed party.

Emma and Garrett started dating in March 2019 after the actress broke things off with her on and off fiancé Evan Peters whereas Garrett was briefly engaged to actress Kirsten Dunst whom he was from 2012 to 2016. A source mentioned at that time, Garrett and Emma have been friends, but this is new, casual and just a couple of weeks old.” Later the duo was spotted in the Silverlake neighborhood in Los Angeles and one of the eyewitnesses mentioned that Garrett had his arm around her and then they were holding hands.

The couple welcomed their son Rhodes in December 2020 and shared a home in California. Garrett told Extra in July,“The best part is we were just in Boston, my gal, was working so it was every day all day with mister young man. My favorite part of every day was the bedtime stories [with] me telling him stories of his grandfathers, which was wonderful for me and hopefully him. It was just a really sweet, connecting dad moment.”

A source previously mentioned to People that Garrett has been supporting Emma with the baby. "Having a newborn in the pandemic has been a lot harder than either of them expected, but they're really, really trying their best to figure things out. Garrett totally stepped it up after Emma was still recovering after giving birth. He made sure that their house was stocked with things that Emma liked and needed so she felt comfortable. She's just starting to get back into a more 'normal' routine."

The reports have suggested that the two of them 'grew apart when Garrett was away working' however they 'are still coparenting, and still doing things as a family.' In addition to the split, Garrett was arrested for causing a disturbance in Franklin County, Tennessee. The man who called the cops said that the actor tried to jump out of the car and kicked him and swing on him but cops said that the man did not want to press any criminal charges.

The actor who was arrested because he was banging on the back door of a building and creating a lot of disturbance for the people was later released from custody on a $2,100 bond. According to cops, Hedlund appeared intoxicated, reeked of alcohol, had slurred speech and did not follow commands made by officers.” He said that he was trying to retrieve a few items that he had left in the building.

Garrett is also being sued for negligence after allegedly causing a head-on collision due to nodding off at the wheel and is now under three years probation over his previous DUI cases. In court documents obtained by E! News, Garrett crashed into Marina Venegas and her daughter Jennifer Castillo on January 24th, 2020, after the singer passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle and ran a solid red light at a high rate of speed. As the result of the crash, the mother-daughter along with two passengers suffered severe and permanent injuries and had to be taken to the emergency rooms immediately.

The mother-daughter duo claims, Garrett had red, bloodshot, and watery eyes with extremely slurred speech and coordination and was so drunk that he was unresponsive to the police and witnesses; Hedlund was so inebriated he was unable to walk and was forced sit in the Jeep; and Hedlund had finished drinking minutes prior to the accident.” They also added that Garrett “knew he was drinking to the point of severe intoxication before getting behind the wheel of his Jeep, a large ad heavy Sport Utility Vehicle. He also knew that it was illegal to drive while intoxicated. He also knew that if he were to drive his SUV while under the influence of alcohol, it was probable that he would lose control of the SUV and cause a collision with another motorist or pedestrian. Despite this actual knowledge, Hedlund purposely drank excessively with the specific intention of getting drunk."

The complaint alleges that Garrett tried to leave the scene of the accident without offering any help to the victims but because he was intoxicated he could not getaway. The complaint continued, "Hedlund refused a DUI test at the scene of the accident however when hours later he was tested, he was so intoxicated that his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit."

According to reports by People, he was later released on bail after paying a $100k bond and is due back in court in March. After the incident, the singer-actor had completed a 30-day residential treatment program and a nine-month-first offender alcohol and drug education-counseling program. Garrett’s representative said in a statement, "When the incident occurred, Garrett immediately sought treatment which was successful. Today, he is in a solid and great place.”

The mother-daughter is reportedly seeking punitive damages and a jury trial.
