Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter took to social media to share a heartfelt song teaser titled "Hurts to Love You" and pay tribute to his late brother Aaron Carter, who passed away in November 2022.

In the song, as the pictures and home movies of Aaron Carter from childhood appear on screen, Nick Carter sings that it hurts to love him, but he does, and he misses him with all his heart, adding that he knows he will always miss him. Nick continues that, and he always prayed for peace and how he could feel; it hurts to love him, but he does love him still. He adds that he always hopes that his tomorrow will be better than the day before, and he hopes that Aaron will find a road to follow to get to a place where he will be happy in this world.

Nick Carter captioned the post by writing that people have someone in their lives that no matter what they do and how bad it hurts them, they still love them, and he shared with his fans that he turned towards music to find some comfort and process the devastating loss of his younger brother. Nick said he worked it out in the best way he knows. According to TMZ, Nick Carter started working on the song shortly after Aaron Carter’s untimely demise.

The music video, which is expected to be released on Wednesday evening, would therefore pay tribute to Aaron Carter, who sadly passed away in November 2022 after becoming found unresponsive in his bathtub by a housekeeper at his home in Lancaster, California. Aaron Carter was 34 years old when he died, and the reason for his death is mentioned on the certificate as "delayed," which implies that the post-mortem has not yet determined the result.

Aaron Carter’s passing was a shock to everyone, and Nick Carter took to social media following his death to share that his heart is broken. He mentioned that even though he and Aaron had a complicated relationship, his love for his younger brother never faded away, and he loved him always. Nick Carter stated that he has always held onto the hope that Aaron Carter would somehow, someday, walk on the healthy path, a path that leads to him asking for the help he needs. The singer continued that sometimes people want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness are the real villains here, and he will miss his brother more than anyone can ever know.

Aaron's siblings, Nick and Angel, paid tribute to their late brother by raising money for mental health, with profits going to the organization On Our Sleeves: The Movement for Children's Mental Health, for which Nick is an official representative.

The Carters' relationship with Aaron had been troubled in recent years as he struggled to keep his sobriety. Aaron revealed he had been diagnosed with numerous mental health issues in a 2019 interview with Entertainment Tonight about just a DUI arrest. Weeks later, Nick acquired a restraining order against Aaron, accusing him of intimidating to physically harm his family.

Aaron, who continued to struggle with substance abuse and decided to enter rehab in 2017, defended himself on Twitter. He wrote that he is baffled by the accusations made against him and that he doesn't wish any harm on anyone, — especially his family. On September 17, Aaron wrote on Twitter that all he wants is for his family to leave him alone, highlighting that this is about blood, not love. He stated that he would never be around them and that he does not wish to be around them, noting that it was he who stated that he was done, and then they sent him this!

However, by the time Aaron died, Nick and Aaron had decided to move on from their issues. Aaron was on the path of making adjustments with numerous individuals in his life, according to the late singer's spokesperson, and he had tried to make amends and came to terms with Nick. They continued by stating that Aaron was delighted because he adored his brother and looked up to Nick in numerous ways. They were attempting to restore order. Aaron not only tried to make amends with family members before his death, but he was also working on his substance abuse and mental health issues, which he accepted to Kaila Methven for her show K'LA Afterdark.

Aaron asserted that he had been out of work since 2017 and that he was required to go to rehab. The singer declared at the time that he believes he has grown into the real, true, true version of himself, and that he went to rehab four times before getting it right. Aaron Carter is survived by his 1-year-old son Prince, whom he shared with his fiancée Melanie Martin.
